Color Visión is a television network based in the Dominican Republic. It is one of the largest television channels in that country. Color Visión is channel 9 in the Dominican Republic's television dial. History Color Visión was founded on July 25, 1968 as the first color television station in the Dominican Republic and the third such company in Latin America as a whole and began regularly scheduled programming on November 30, 1969, in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros. Eduardo Brito National Theater () is a venue in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Casandra Damirón
Altagracia Casandra Damirón Santana, known as Casandra Damirón (March 12, 1919December 5, 1983), was a Dominican singer, dancer and folklorist. Recognition In her country she was known "La Soberana de la Canción" ("The Sovereign of the Song", "Queen of the Song"). Since 1985 the Casandra Awards in arts was established, in her honor. However in 2012 the descendants of Casandra Damirón decided to withdraw the authorization to use Casandra's name from the awards name arguing that for the previous two years the ceremony departed from the rules which "have governed the award in terms of its content and ''raison d'être''", and therefore it is currently known as the Soberano Awards. The Latin American Music Awards (Latin AMAs) is an annual American music awards show produced by TelevisaUnivision. It is the Spanish-language counterpart of the American Music Awards (AMAs).
