Carwyn Davies
Carwyn Davies (17 April 1964 – 10 February 1997) was a Welsh international rugby union player. Davies was born in Llandovery, Carmarthenshire. He was a rugby union player for Llanelli and also played seven international matches for Wales between 1988 and 1989 as a winger. As a Llanelli player he held the club's try-scoring record scoring 45 tries in 44 games during the 1988/9 season. He scored 121 tries in 159 matches for Llanelli. Davies worked as a farmer near Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire and witnessed the Glanrhyd Bridge railway accident early on 19 October 1987, when four people died. He later helped ferry rescuers to the bridge using the farm's tractor. He retired from first class rugby in 1991 to run the Llangadog Llangadog () is a village and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales, which also includes the villages of Bethlehem and Capel Gwynfe. Carwyn Ellis
Carwyn Meurig Ellis (born 9 August 1973) is a Welsh musician, composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. He is known as the frontman of Welsh alternative band Colorama, as a member of the Pretenders and as a long-time collaborator with Edwyn Collins. In 2014, they worked together on the soundtrack to the film ''The Possibilities Are Endless'' which won the Mojo 'Film of the Year' Award. Ellis has also recorded electronic music as Zarelli, releasing an album, ''Soft Rains'' in 2015 which featured the voice of Leonard Nimoy narrating the Ray Bradbury short story '' There Will Come Soft Rains''. In 2017 Ellis formed the Welsh folk group Bendith and their self-titled album was nominated for the Welsh Music Prize and went on to win the Welsh Language Album of the Year 2017 award at National Eisteddfod of Wales. Carwyn James
Carwyn Rees James (2 November 1929 – 10 January 1983) was a Welsh rugby union player and coach. He won two Wales national rugby union team, Welsh international caps but is most famous for his coaching achievements with Llanelli RFC, Llanelli, the 1971 British and Irish Lions, British Lions and the Barbarians F.C., Barbarians, with all of whom he beat the All Blacks. Early life and education James was born in 1929, the son of a coalminer, in Cefneithin in the Gwendraeth Valley. He was educated at the village school, at Gwendraeth Grammar School in Drefach, at Llandovery College, and at Trinity College, Carmathen. He played rugby for and captained Wales Secondary Schools. At Aberystwyth University in his first year he studied Geography, Philosophy, Welsh History and Welsh, and Welsh alone in his final year.
