Cartoonito (Europe)
Cartoonito is a pan-European children's television channel owned by the EMEA sub-division of the international division of Warner Bros. Discovery. It launched on 11 September 2024, following the merger of Cartoonito Portugal and Cartoonito Nordic, which had been in operation since 2023. History Both Cartoonito Portugal and Cartoonito Nordic originated as blocks on Boomerang in 2022, before taking over the channel space in March and September 2023 respectively. Nordic countries On 19 January 2015, Boomerang Nordic applied the 2014–15 rebrand. In January 2022, it was announced that a Cartoonito programming block would also come to Boomerang on 1 February 2022. Due to the channel changes from 17 April to 1 May 2023, the Czech Radio and Television Broadcasting Council also gave the green light to show the channel in Latvia. 1080i
In high-definition television (HDTV) and video display technology, 1080i is a video display format with 1080 lines of vertical resolution and Interlaced video, interlaced scanning method. This format was once a standard in HDTV. It was particularly used for broadcast television because it can deliver high-resolution images without needing excessive bandwidth. This format is used in the SMPTE 292M standard. Definition The number "1080" in 1080i refers to the number of horizontal lines that make up the vertical resolution of the display. Discovery Channel (Norwegian TV Channel)
Discovery Channel (often referred to as simply Discovery) is a Norwegian television channel. Norway is one of the Discovery Channel's strongest markets and the channel regularly has an overall share of viewing of about two percent. It is most popular among younger men. The original American network used to have one feed covering all four Nordic countries. Special feeds have been launched for Discovery Channel Denmark in 2001 and Discovery Channel Sweden in 2003. Norway and Finland received "Discovery Channel Nordic" until September 1, 2007, when the channel was split into Discovery Channel Norway and Discovery Channel Finland. Discovery Sweden
Discovery Channel (often referred to as simply Discovery) is the Swedish language version of the Discovery Channel, using a "factual entertainment" concept similar to the original American channel. As of 2006, it was the eighth most watched channel in Sweden (MMS). The channel used to broadcast the same schedule as the other Discovery channels in the Nordic countries, but with Swedish language presentation, advertising and subtitles. In spring 2007, the Swedish channel differentiated itself from the Nordic sister channels and started using Swedish voice-overs in the programmes and a schedule specially adapted for the Swedish market. Discovery Channel Finland
Discovery Channel Finland is a television channel targeting Finland formerly owned by Discovery Networks and now owned by Warner Bros. Discovery through Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA. It has programming similar to its U.S. counterpart, the Discovery Channel. It was launched on 1 September 2007, replacing a former pan-Nordic version of the Discovery Channel. On the same day, the analogue terrestrial transmitters were shut down and a new digital network containing, among other, Discovery Channel Finland was launched. In the terrestrial network it is a part of both the Canal Digital and PlusTV packages. The pan-Nordic version of the Discovery Channel had carried subtitles in Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian and Danish. Discovery Denmark
Discovery Channel (often referred to as simply Discovery) is a Danish television channel. The Discovery Channel has been available to Danish viewers since 1989, but started becoming increasingly localised during the 2000s. For example, they have increasingly started broadcasting programmes in Danish. Since TNS Gallup started measuring viewing for the channel in 2002, the channel has continuously held a 1.3 percent share of all viewing. The channel is available from most cable networks, including YouSee. On satellite it is available from Canal Digital. On 1 February 2009 it started broadcasting terrestrially via Boxer's transmitters. Discovery Channel Denmark started using the new version of the Discovery Channel logo on 31 March 2009. 6'eren is a Danish subscription television channel operated by Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA. It replaced SBS Net on 1 January 2009. The channel's target audience is males, branding itself with the slogan "Denmark's got a new TV Channel - and it's for men" (Danmark har fået en ny TV-kanal, og den er for mænd).
