Carter Nordman
Carter F. Nordman (born May 27, 1998) is an American politician serving as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from the 47th district. Elected in November 2020, he assumed office on January 11, 2021. Nordman is the youngest state legislator in Iowa and one of the youngest in the United States. Early life and education A native of Adel, Iowa, Nordman graduated from Adel DeSoto Minburn High School. Nordman earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Northern Iowa. Career Shortly after his high school graduation, Nordman ran for mayor of Adel against incumbent Jim Peters, losing narrowly in a closely contested election. Chris Hagenow
Chris Hagenow (born January 19, 1972) is an American attorney and politician who served as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from 2009 to 2021. Hagenow served as majority leader for the Republican caucus and also served on the Administration and Rules, Judiciary, Legislative Council, State Government, and Ways and Means committees. Early life and education Hagenow grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He graduated from Price Laboratory School and magna cum laude from the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor's degree in 1994. Hagenow earned a J.D. degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1997 and became a member of the Iowa State Bar Association. The Iowa House of Representatives is the lower house of the Iowa General Assembly, the upper house being the Iowa Senate. There are 100 seats in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing 100 single-member districts across the state, formed by dividing the 50 Senate districts in half. Adel, Iowa
Adel ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Dallas County, Iowa. It is located along the North Raccoon River. Its population was 6,153 at the time of the 2020 Census. History Adel is the oldest town within Dallas County. Originally called Penoach, Adel was incorporated in 1847, and changed to its current name in 1849. In 1855, there were about twenty-five houses in Adel and three stores. From that time onward, the city began to grow at a faster rate. Situated along the river, Adel had a good supply of water-power for a flour mill. It was to be situated on a section of property owned by Noeingerl Cantrel & Co. J. H. Strong of Des Moines, and H. H. Moffatt built the mill in 1856–57 at a cost of $20,000. The dam was constructed with about eight feet of head water. Phil Thompson (born 1991) is an American politician serving as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from the 48th. Elected in November 2018, he assumed office on January 14, 2019. Early life and education Thompson was born in Jefferson, Iowa in 1991. After graduating from Jefferson-Scranton High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Brent Siegrist
J. Brent Siegrist (born September 30, 1952) is an American politician from the state of Iowa. A member of the Republican Party, he served in the Iowa House of Representatives for twenty years, non-consecutively, ten of which he filled the role of Speaker.
