Carson Whisenhunt
Carson Lee Whisenhunt (born October 20, 2000) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the San Francisco Giants organization. Amateur career Whisenhunt attended Davie County High School in Mocksville, North Carolina, where he played on their baseball team. He barely graduated. He went unselected in the 2019 Major League Baseball draft and enrolled at East Carolina University to play college baseball. Whisenhunt made eight relief appearances as a freshman at East Carolina in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That summer, he played in the Coastal Plain League for the High Point-Thomasville HiToms. For the 2021 season, he started 13 games and went 6–2 with a 3.77 ERA, 79 strikeouts, and 22 walks over 62 innings. After the season's end, he played for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. Collegiate Summer Baseball
Collegiate summer baseball leagues are amateur baseball leagues in the United States and Canada featuring players who have attended at least one year of college and have at least one year of athletic eligibility remaining. Generally, they operate from early June to early August. In contrast to college baseball, which allow aluminum or other composite baseball bats, players in these leagues use only wooden bats, hence the common nickname of these leagues as "wood-bat leagues". Collegiate summer leagues allow college baseball players the ability to compete using professional rules and equipment, giving them experience and allowing professional scouts the opportunity to observe players under such conditions. Northwest League
The Northwest League is a Minor League Baseball league that operates in the Northwestern United States and Western Canada. A Class A Short Season league for most of its history, the league was promoted to High-A as part of Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues. The Eugene Emeralds (nicknamed the Ems) are a Minor League Baseball team in the northwest United States, based in Eugene, Oregon. The Emeralds are members of the Northwest League and are affiliated with the San Francisco Giants. Eugene plays their home games at PK Park. Scottsdale Scorpions
The Scottsdale Scorpions are a baseball team that plays in the East Division of the Arizona Fall League. They play their home games in Scottsdale, Arizona, at Scottsdale Stadium, which is also the spring training facility of the San Francisco Giants. Arizona Fall League
The Arizona Fall League (AFL) is an off-season sports league owned and operated by Major League Baseball (MLB) which operates during the autumn in Arizona, United States, at six different baseball complexes. Arizona Fall League rosters are filled by many of the top prospects in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) who are assigned by their parent clubs. Structure The six teams of the AFL are organized in two three-team divisions. San Jose Giants
The San Jose Giants are a Minor League Baseball team of the California League and the Single-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.
