Carsick Cars
Carsick Cars is a Chinese indie rock trio formed in March 2005. Carsick Cars released their self-titled debut album in 2007 on Maybe Mars in China and on tenzenmen in Australia. The band joined Sonic Youth for their European tour in Prague and Vienna in 2007. A 7" single of tracks taken from that album was released in the UK by Suyin Records. In June 2009, the band released their second album, ''You Can Listen, You Can Talk''. In March 2010, 2011, and 2012 Carsick Cars performed at the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas. As of November 2010, Li Weisi and Li Qing left the band to focus on their other projects. They were replaced by He Fan (Birdstriking) on bass and Ben Ben (BOYZ & GIRL, Skip Skip Ben Ben). Ben Ben was subsequently replaced by Houzi. Li Weisi (bass) and Li Qing (drums) returned in 2017 and remain in the band. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand in the early to mid-1980s. Although the term was originally used to describe rock music released through independent record labels, by the 1990s it became more widely associated with the music such bands produced. The sound of indie rock has its origins in the New Zealand Dunedin sound of the Chills, Tall Dwarfs, the Clean and the Verlaines, and early 1980s college rock radio stations who would frequently play jangle pop bands like the Smiths and R.E.M. Noise Pop
Noise pop is a subgenre of alternative and indie rock that developed in the mid-1980s in the United Kingdom and United States. It is defined by its mixture of dissonant noise or feedback with the songcraft more often found in pop music. Shoegaze, another noise-based genre that developed in the 1980s, drew from noise pop. History and characteristics Noise pop has been described by AllMusic as "the halfway point between bubblegum and the avant-garde"; the combination of conventional pop songwriting with experimental sounds of white noise, distorted guitars and drones. Tenzenmen
tenzenmen is a distributor and promoter of DIY music, active in Sydney from 2004 to 2018, and now based in Thailand. Founded by Shaun Tenzenmen, the organisation has been involved in connecting independent artists around the world through touring and album releases. History Started in Sydney during 2004, tenzenmen took its name from a previous project some 10 years before. tenzenmen released a much sought-after pink vinyl 12" recording titled Quarrychase on German label Very Good Records. In the new century the name was revived with plans to release a series of CDs, the first being a 2 disc collection of recordings from the 2003 NOWnow festival. Soon followed by the first in the series of Eccentrics 3 band compilations and the second Kroko CD titled Rabia. Huen Su Yin (born 12 September 1985) is a Malaysian blogger and cake designer. She is known for her sculpted cakes, which use cake, fondant and styrofoam to create characters and themes, including her Super Mario cake. She is also known for her face cupcakes. Early life and education Huen was born in Ipoh, Malaysia. She attended an all-girls convent school until she completed high school and went to college in Kuala Lumpur for one year.
