Centerfold
The centerfold or centrefold of a magazine is the inner pages of the middle Folio, sheet, usually containing a portrait, such as a pin-up or a Nudity, nude. The term can also refer to the model featured in the portrait. In saddle-stitched magazines (as opposed to those that are perfect binding, perfect-bound), the centerfold does not have any blank space cutting through the image. The term was coined by Hugh Hefner, founder of ''Playboy'' magazine. The success of the 1953 first issue of ''Playboy'' has been attributed in large part to its centerfold: a nude of Marilyn Monroe. The advent of monthly centerfolds gave the pin-up a new respectability and helped to sanitize the notion of "sexiness". Mission Hills is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, United States, and part of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 3,594. Stephen Wayda (born December 12, 1946) is an American professional photographer, best known for his photography for ''Playboy'' magazine. Early life and education Wayda was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Southern California. After high school, he attended the University of Utah where he majored in journalism and political science. Wayda hoped to join the Navy ROTC and fly jets, but when his grandfather died and left him a camera collection, he taught himself photography. Richard Fegley
Leon Richard Fegley (November 29, 1936 – September 15, 2001) was an American photographer who worked for ''Playboy'' magazine for 30 years. Fegley started taking photos during a stint in the United States Air Force and eventually attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. In 1971 he joined ''Playboy'' as a freelance photographer. His first ''Playboy'' Playmate was Carol O'Neal, for the July 1972 issue. In all he photographed 91 Playmates, including Shannon Tweed, Kimberley Conrad, Erika Eleniak, Kelly Monaco and Karen McDougal. Fegley also photographed many covers for ''Playboy'', as well as several celebrities, including adult film star Marilyn Chambers. Arny Freytag (born April 12, 1950) is an American photographer who specializes in glamour photography. He began working for ''Playboy'' magazine in 1976 and at one time was one of only two photographers who produced the ''Playboy'' centerfold photographs. Freytag grew up in Chicago, Illinois, attending Sutherland grammar school and Luther South High School. He graduated from the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts in 1970, and from Brooks Institute of Photography (Santa Barbara, California) in 1974.
