Carolyn Swords
Carolyn Swords (born July 19, 1989) is an American former basketball player. She previously played for PF Umbertide in Italy and the Sydney Uni Flames in Australia. WNBA Swords was selected the second round of the 2011 WNBA Draft (15th overall) by the Chicago Sky.http://www.wnba.com draft2011/draft_board.html 2011 WNBA Draft board She has played overseas in Istanbul and in Italy with PF Umbertide. Swords signed with the New York Liberty on February 2, 2015. On January 30, 2017, Swords was traded to the Seattle Storm in a three-team trade. She briefly retired from WNBA in February 2020 to join the Aces' front office but came out of retirement to resign with the Aces in May 2020 when it was announced that center Park Ji-su would sit out the 2020 season to train in South Korea. The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is an American professional basketball league. It is composed of twelve teams, all based in the United States. The league was founded on April 22, 1996, as the women's counterpart to the National Basketball Association (NBA), and league play started in 1997. The regular season is played from May to September, with the All Star game being played midway through the season in July (except in Olympic years) and the WNBA Finals at the end of September until the beginning of October. 2011 WNBA Season
The 2011 WNBA season was the 15th season of the Women's National Basketball Association. The regular season began on June 3 with the Los Angeles Sparks hosting the Minnesota Lynx, featuring 2011 WNBA Draft top pick Maya Moore, in a game televised on NBA TV. Four games followed the next day, with the marquee matchup, televised on ABC, featuring the defending champion Seattle Storm and the Phoenix Mercury in Seattle. 2018 Las Vegas Aces Season
The 2018 WNBA season was the 22nd season for the Las Vegas Aces franchise of the WNBA. This was the franchise's inaugural season in Las Vegas, after moving from San Antonio during the off season. The season tips off on May 20. The team started the season slowly in May, posting an 0–4 record. June was a month of improvement, as the Aces went 6–7, including a win over Seattle away. July was the team's best month of the year. The Aces posted a 6–2 record, with their only 2 losses being to Los Angeles. The team's playoff push fell short in August, when the team posted a 2–7 record including the league's first forfeited game. Ultimately the forfeit proved costly, as the team missed out on the playoffs by 1 game and finished 9th in the league overall. The 2018 WNBA season was the 22nd season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Minnesota Lynx are the defending champions. The 2013 WNBA season is the 8th season for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association. With the addition of Elena Delle Donne, expectations were high for the Sky to finally reach the playoffs. Delle Donne, along with Sylvia Fowles, Epiphanny Prince, Courtney Vandersloot, and Swin Cash finished the regular season with the best record in the Eastern Conference - thus giving the Sky, their first regular season Conference title and the first seed in the 2013 WNBA Playoffs.
