Carolyn Whitney Carter (born January 12, 1990) is a Virgin Islander actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss US Virgin Islands 2016. She represented the U.S. Virgin Islands at the Miss Universe 2016.. On July 26, 2023, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission charged Carolyn Carter with insider trading after she allegedly used insider information from her former boyfriend, 86 year old billionaire Joe Lewis. Lewis and Carter were in a romantic relationship from 2013-2020. Personal life Carter was born in New Orleans and grew up in St Croix. She graduated from AZ Academy in St. Croix and swam competitively for the St. Croix Dolphins for 11 years and the US Virgin Islands National Swim Team. Miss U.S. Virgin Islands is a beauty pageant in the US Virgin Islands. Miss Earth 2012, the 12th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on November 24, 2012 at the Versailles Palace in Las Piñas, Philippines. Olga Álava of Ecuador crowned her successor Tereza Fajksová of the Czech Republic at the end of the event. The pageant was broadcast live internationally on Star World and was shown 25 November 2012 at 10:00 a.m. on ABS-CBN, with coverage on Studio 23, TFC-The Filipino Channel, and also on channels of participating counties worldwide. Miss Earth-Air went to Stephany Stefanowitz, a 23-year-old German-Filipino fashion designer and model from Quezon City, Philippines. Miss Universe 2016 was the 65th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Mall of Asia Arena, in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines on January 30, 2017. This is the second time in the history of the competition that the pageant skipped an entire year, following the 2014 pageant which was held in January 2015.
