Caroll Shelby
Carroll Hall Shelby (January 11, 1923 – May 10, 2012) was an American automotive designer, racing driver, and entrepreneur. Shelby was involved with the AC Cobra and Mustang for Ford Motor Company. With driver Ken Miles, he developed the Ford GT40, the car that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1969. As of 2024, it remains the only American-built car to win at Le Mans. Their efforts were dramatized in the 2019 Oscar-winning film ''Ford v Ferrari'' (titled ''Le Mans 66'' in some European countries). Shelby and co-driver Roy Salvadori won the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans driving an Aston Martin DBR1. Leesburg, Texas
Leesburg is an unincorporated community in southwestern Camp County, Texas, United States. Although Leesburg is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 75451. History Named for early settler John Lee, Leesburg was a contender for the county seat in 1874, coming in second to Pittsburg. In the same year, the community's first post office was established. James G. Credille was the postmaster, as well as the county treasurer. The community became a stop on the East Line and Red River Railroad in the late 1870s. The community had 50 residents in 1884, as well as a mill, a gin, and three stores. It continued to grow during the decade and had a population of 150 in 1890. Six years later, the population boomed to 300 and had two churches and a business center. The population remained at around 300 until it dropped to 120 in 1943 and then to 75 in 1968. 1967 24 Hours Of Le Mans
The 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans was the 35th 24 Hours of Le Mans, Grand Prix of Endurance, and took place on 10 and 11 June 1967. It was also the seventh round of the 1967 World Sportscar Championship. Dan Gurney and A. J. Foyt, driving a Ford GT40#Mk IV, Ford Mk IV, won the race after leading from the second hour. As of this victory remains both the only all-American victory in Le Mans history — American drivers (Dan Gurney and A. J. Heart Valve
A heart valve is a biological one-way valve that allows blood to flow in one direction through the chambers of the heart. A mammalian heart usually has four valves. Together, the valves determine the direction of blood flow through the heart. Heart valves are opened or closed by a difference in blood pressure on each side. The mammalian heart has two atrioventricular valves separating the upper atria from the lower ventricles: the mitral valve in the left heart, and the tricuspid valve in the right heart. The two semilunar valves are at the entrance of the arteries leaving the heart. These are the aortic valve at the aorta, and the pulmonary valve at the pulmonary artery. Riverside International Raceway (sometimes known as Riverside, RIR, or Riverside Raceway) was a motorsports race track and road course established in the Edgemont area of Riverside County, California, just east of the city limits of Riverside and east of Los Angeles, in 1957. In 1984, the raceway became part of the newly incorporated city of Moreno Valley. Riverside was noted for its hot, dusty environment, which was a dangerous challenge for drivers. Roy Francesco Salvadori (12 May 1922 – 3 June 2012) was a British racing driver and motorsport executive, who competed in Formula One from to .
