''Carolina Confessions'' is the third studio album by American Southern rock/blues band The Marcus King Band. It was released on October 5, 2018 via Fantasy Records. Recording sessions took place at RCA Studio A in Nashville. Production was handled by Dave Cobb. In the United States, the album peaked at number 58 on the Top Album Sales chart, number 19 on the Americana/Folk Albums chart, number 55 on the Top Current Album Sales chart, and number 2 on the Top Blues Albums chart. It reached number 76 on the Swiss Hitparade, number 89 on the Dutch Album Top 100, number 126 on the Ultratop Wallonia, and number 11 on the UK Official Americana Albums charts. The Marcus King Band
The Marcus King Band is a southern rock/blues band from South Carolina formed in 2013. History The band is led by guitarist Marcus King. Raised in Greenville, South Carolina, King was brought up on the blues, playing shows as a pre-teen sideman with his father, the fellow bluesman Marvin King. The band includes drummer Jack Ryan, bassist Stephen Campbell, and guitarist Drew Smithers. Touring musicians consist of saxophonist Chris Spies, and keyboard player, Mike Runyon. The Marcus King Band released their debut album, ''Soul Insight'' on October 30, 2015, on Warren Haynes' Evil Teen Records. ''Soul Insight'' reached #8 on the ''Billboard'' Blues Albums Chart. Americana/Folk Albums (formerly Folk Albums) is a music chart published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine which ranks the top selling "current releases by traditional folk artists, as well as appropriate titles by acoustic-based singer-songwriters" in the United States. The chart debuted on the issue dated December 5, 2009, as a 15-position chart with its first number-one title being the Bob Dylan Christmas album '' Christmas in the Heart''. Matt Ross-Spang is an American Grammy award winning record producer, engineer, and mixer. His credits include such artists as Jason Isbell, Margo Price, Al Green, John Prine and Elvis Presley. Life and career Matt Ross-Spang, born in Memphis, Tennessee, began working at the Sun Studio when he was just 16, working his way from an intern to the Chief Engineer. Wanting to capture what made Sun Studio great, Ross-Spang championed hard to find, install, and use the same period equipment that Sam Phillips engineered with from the 1950s. His 11 years of dedication to Sun, and its signature sound, garnered national attention when it was featured by Lester Holt on NBC's ''Nightly News'' and ''The Today Show'', as well as NPR's ''All Things Considered''. Pat McLaughlin
Pat McLaughlin is an American singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee. He was raised in Waterloo, Iowa, but moved to San Francisco, California, in the early 1970s. There McLaughlin began to write songs, playing alone at open mic nights and in the streets near the bay. After a brief stint in Boston, he moved to Nashville where he formed a band and released his first album in 1980. Two consecutive projects for Capitol Records followed. His first major label album ''Pat McLaughlin'' made its debut in 1988. In the late 1980s, McLaughlin experienced his first mainstream country music success when Steve Wariner recorded McLaughlin's song "Lynda". Daniel Quine Auerbach (; born May 14, 1979) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer, best known as the guitarist and vocalist of The Black Keys, a blues rock band from Akron, Ohio. As a member of the group, Auerbach has recorded and co-produced twelve studio albums with his bandmate Patrick Carney. Auerbach has also released two solo albums, ''Keep It Hid'' (2009) and ''Waiting on a Song'' (2017), and formed a side project, the Arcs, which released the albums ''Yours, Dreamily,'' (2015) and ''Electrophonic Chronic'' (2023). Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created in 1995 on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published; one is on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia.
