Carnivores Ice Age
''Carnivores: Ice Age'' is a first-person shooter video game developed by Action Forms and published by WizardWorks for Microsoft Windows. It is the third game in the ''Carnivores'' series. Unlike the previous games, in which the player must hunt dinosaurs, ''Carnivores: Ice Age'' allows the player to stalk large Cenozoic animals such as mammoths and saber-toothed cats. In 2011, the game was ported to iOS and Android devices by Tatem Games, and to PlayStation Portable by WizardWorks. Storyline The game's story follows the events of its predecessors, in which an Earth corporation purchased the rights to a dinosaur-inhabited planet codenamed FMM UV-32 and created the DinoHunt Corporation, allowing customers to hunt the planet's dinosaurs. Scientists also found Ice Age animals living in the Arctic regions of FMM UV-32 and they set up a separate hunting program for big game living there. Action Forms
Action Forms Ltd. was a Ukrainian video game developer based in Kyiv. History Action Forms was founded by art director Yaroslav Kravchenko, lead programmer Oleg Slusar, executive director Igor Karev, and deputy director Denis Vereschagin. Krevchenko and Slusar had been "addicted" to the game '' Doom'' and wanted to develop a similar game. After commencing work on a game engine for their game, ''Tron: The Hammer of War'', they brought in Karev and Vereschagin and formed Actions Forms in Kyiv in 1995. ''Tron: The Hammer of War'' was eventually renamed '' Chasm: The Rift'' and released in 1997. Subsequently, the company earned recognition as developer of the first three games in the ''Carnivores'' series. Saber-toothed Cat
Machairodontinae is an extinct subfamily of carnivoran mammals of the family Felidae (true cats). They were found in Asia, Africa, North America, South America, and Europe from the Miocene to the Pleistocene, living from about 16 million until about 11,000 years ago. The Machairodontinae contain many of the extinct predators commonly known as "saber-toothed cats", including the famed genus ''Smilodon'', as well as other cats with only minor increases in the size and length of their maxillary canines. The name means "dagger-tooth", from Greek μάχαιρα (''machaira''), sword. Sometimes, other carnivorous mammals with elongated teeth are also called saber-toothed cats, although they do not belong to the felids. Metacritic is a website that aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review. The woolly rhinoceros (''Coelodonta antiquitatis'') is an extinct species of rhinoceros that was common throughout Europe and Asia during the Pleistocene epoch and survived until the end of the last glacial period. Smilodon
''Smilodon'' is a genus of the extinct machairodont subfamily of the felids. It is one of the most famous prehistoric mammals and the best known saber-toothed cat. Although commonly known as the saber-toothed tiger, it was not closely related to the tiger or other modern cats. ''Smilodon'' lived in the Americas during the Pleistocene epoch (2.5 Year#mya, mya – 10,000 years ago). The genus was named in 1842 based on fossils from Brazil; the generic name means "scalpel" or "two-edged knife" combined with "tooth".
