Carnage (comics)
Carnage is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, usually as an List of Spider-Man enemies, adversary of Spider-Man and the archenemy of his father Venom (character), Venom, in particular the Eddie Brock incarnation of the character, although Carnage and Venom have joined forces when their goals have aligned. The character made its first appearance in ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' #361 (April 1992), and was created by writer David Michelinie and artist Mark Bagley, although the first published artwork of Carnage was penciled by Chris Marrinan. Stan Lee would also have some input in the character's name and attributes, pushing for a character who would be far darker and more vicious than Venom, due to the latter's more scrupulous character development. The Amazing Spider-Man
''The Amazing Spider-Man'' is an ongoing American superhero American comic book, comic book series featuring the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man as its title character and main protagonist. Being in the Earth 616, mainstream continuity of the franchise, it was the character's first title, launching seven months after his introduction in the final issue of ''Amazing Fantasy''. The series began publication with a March 1963 cover date and has been published nearly continuously to date over six volumes with only one significant interruption. Issues of the title currently feature an issue number within its sixth volume, as well as a "legacy" number reflecting the issue's overall number across all ''Amazing Spider-Man'' volumes. The title reached 900 issues in 2022. The series began as a bimonthly periodical before being increased to monthly after four issues.
