Carmine Marcantonio
Carmine Marcantonio (born 21 November 1954 in Castel di Sangro, Italy) is a Canadian retired soccer player who earned two caps for the national team between 1976 and 1980. Club career Marcantonio played in the National Soccer League (NSL) in 1973 with Toronto Italia for three seasons. In 1976, he played in the North American Soccer League (NASL) with Toronto Metros-Croatia, where he won the Soccer Bowl. The following season he returned to play with Toronto Italia. in 1978, he returned to the NASL to play with the Washington Diplomats. The remainder of his tenure in the NASL he played with Montreal Manic and New York Cosmos. In the summer of 1985, he returned to the NSL to play with Toronto Dinamo. He played one season of indoor soccer for the New York Arrows of the Major Indoor Soccer League and several indoor seasons for NASL clubs. Castel Di Sangro
Castel di Sangro (locally ''Caštiéllë'') is a city and ''comune'' of 6,461 people (as of 2013) in the Province of L'Aquila, in Abruzzo, Central Italy. It is the main city of the Alto Sangro e Altopiano delle Cinque Miglia area. Geography Castel di Sangro is located near the Sangro River, in a valley in the Apennine Mountains. Canada Soccer Hall Of Fame
The Canada Soccer Hall of Fame honours people and institutions for their contributions to Canadian soccer. It was founded in 1997 by the Ontario Soccer Association and was originally located in Vaughan, Ontario. As of 2019, the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame has inducted 114 players, 13 managers/coaches, 10 officials, and 40 builders as honoured members. Additionally, the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame has recognized 13 teams of distinction and seven organizations of distinction. The Canadian Soccer League was a Division 1 professional soccer league that operated for six seasons between 1987 and 1992. It was a nationwide league that had teams in six provinces over the course of its history. It was the last top-division league in Canada until the Canadian Premier League began play in 2019.
