Carmen Wenzel
Carmen Wenzel (born 1931; née Carmen López Blumenkron) is a Mexican sculptor and painter, from Puebla. She is known for her monumental public sculptures made from metal. Wenzel is also known by the married name Carmen López Blumenkron de Wenzel. Life and career Carmen Wenzel was born in 1931, in Puebla, Mexico. She was married to American Thomas William Adams, which ended in divorce. Wenzel began her art studies at the Universidad de las Américas Puebla in San Andrés Cholula, Mexico, under Martín Serrano; followed by study at the Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California with Robert Horne; and study at California State University, Fullerton California State University, Fullerton (CSUF or Cal State Fullerton) is a public research university in Fullerton, California, United States. Carmel-by-the-Sea (), commonly known simply as Carmel, is a city in Monterey County, California, located on the Central Coast of California. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the city had a population of 3,220, down from 3,722 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census. Sunset Center
The Sunset Center is located in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, United States. It is a performing arts center which features concerts, comedy, theatre, and dance. Formerly the Sunset School, the site was purchased by the city of Carmel in 1965 with the plan to develop it into a cultural center. It is home to the Carmel Bach Festival. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 9, 1998. History The Sunset School was a state school, public school founded in 1903, as a subscription school of seven students held in the home of Elmer Douglas on Dolores Street and 7th Avenue in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. The school moved to another home, then to a lumber company's office, and then, in 1906, the Sunset School was built at 9th Avenue and San Carlos Street.
