Carlos Zéfiro
Carlos Zéfiro is the pseudonym of Alcides Aguiar Caminha (September 26, 1921 - July 5, 1992), a Brazilian comic artist who drew pornographic minicomics. Biography Alcides Aguiar Caminha was born in São Cristóvão, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was a public employee and lived most time of his life in Anchieta, a neighborhood in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro. As a secondary job, he drew pornographic comics, signed with the pseudonym Carlos Zéfiro. His small publications became famous and popular in Brazil, circulating in the underground scene during 1950 to 1980. While popular, Zefiro's pornographic comics sold more than 30,000 numbers at once. His publications were known as "catechisms" and were sold illegally. Getting the "catechisms" was not easy. The newsstand owner (jornaleiro in Portuguese) used to sell it only to known consumers. Places attended only by men, like barbershops, were also points of distribution. José Carlos Amaral Kfouri, more commonly known as Juca Kfouri, (São Paulo, 4 March 1950) is a Brazilian sports journalist. Career A descendant of Lebanese immigrants, Juca Kfouri studied Social Sciences at the Faculty of Philosophy, Languages and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo and was invited to work on the Department of Documentation (DEDOC) of Editora Abril, in 1970. Otacílio Costa d’Assunção Barros (July 4, 1954 – September 24, 2021), better known as Ota, was a Brazilian journalist, cartoonist, comics artist and editor. Biography He was born in Rio de Janeiro, and started his career in 1970 at Editora Brasil-América Limitada (EBAL), then the largest Brazilian comic book publishing house. He also published independent comics in the 1970s, such as the comic strip ''Os Birutas''. In 1974, working at Vecchi publishing house, he became editor of the Brazilian edition of ''Mad'' magazine, a position he continued to hold in other publishing houses that published ''Mad'': Record (1984–2000), Mythos (2000–2006) and Panini (2008). Elizeth Moreira Cardoso (sometimes listed as Elisete Cardoso) (July 16, 1920 – May 7, 1990), was a singer and actress of great renown in Brazil. Biography Cardoso was born in Rio de Janeiro; her father was a serenader who played guitar, and her mother was an amateur singer. Elizeth began working at an early age and between 1930 and 1935 was a store clerk and hairdresser among other things. Guilherme de Brito Bollhorst (January 3, 1922 – April 28, 2006), known as Guilherme de Brito, was a Brazilian '' sambista'', singer, songwriter, and painter.
