Carlos Salguero
Carlos Salguero (10 June 1955 – 26 December 2006) was an Argentine professional football forward. He died aged 51 from cancer in 2006. He spent one season in the North American Soccer League, one in the United Soccer League and nearly ten in various indoor leagues. Salguero also coached the Buffalo Blizzard of the National Professional Soccer League for one season. Career Salguero began his professional career with Boca Juniors In 1981, he moved north to play for the Calgary Boomers in the North American Soccer League. In the fall of 1981, he signed with the Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League. The Comets traded him to the Buffalo Stallions in exchange for Yilmaz Orhan and Zoran Savic. Salguero quickly proved his worth as he became the team's all-time leading scorer over just two and a half seasons. The Stallions left the league following the 1983–1984 season. The New York Kick was a professional indoor soccer team based in Albany, New York playing at the Knickerbocker Arena and competed in the National Professional Soccer League (1984–2001). The team was previously known as the Indiana Kick in 1989–90. The Indiana Kick played their games at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A player–coach (also playing coach, captain–coach, or player–manager) is a member of a sports team who simultaneously holds both playing and coaching duties. Canadian National Soccer League
The National Soccer League was a soccer league in Canada that existed from 1926 to 1997. Teams were primarily based in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec. The league was renamed to Canadian National Soccer League in 1993 following the folding of the Canadian Soccer League, and the accepting of the Winnipeg Fury, making the league more national.
