Carlos Rosado
Carlos Rosado Vallejo (born 8 September 1975) is a Mexican former wide receiver in American football who played in NFL Europe for the Barcelona Dragons and the Amsterdam Admirals from 1998 through 2004. He also played preseason with the New York Jets during 2003. His father, Carlos Rosado Stevens, was a wide receiver for the Águilas Reales de UNAM from 1970 to 1974, and later served as the president of ONEFA, the Mexican college football league, from 2008 to 2011. The younger Rosado began playing the sport at the age of seven. He played college football for the Aztecas UDLAP, winning three consecutive ONEFA national championships between 1995 and 1997. He also earned his degree in business administration. Coming out of college, Rosado joined the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europe in 1998 after a pair of successful tryouts. The National Student Organization of American Football ( or ''ONEFA'') is the major college football league in Mexico. American football has been played in Mexico since the early 1920s in different colleges and universities, mainly in Mexico City. In 1928 the first professional championship was played, organized by Jorge Braniff. From the 1920s to the 1970s more universities and colleges joined the championship, and four categories, called ''fuerzas'' were created. The First ''Fuerza'' became the National League in 1970, and in 1978 it was reorganized under the name ONEFA. In 2010 a breakaway league, CONADEIP, was formed by the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education system, UDLAP and additional private universities. 2020 LFA Season
The 2020 LFA season was the fifth season of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA), the top American football league in Mexico. The regular season began on February 8 and was to conclude on April 26, with the playoffs beginning on May 1 and ending with the Tazón México V on May 17. Nevertheless, after week 5, on March 16, the LFA announced the suspension of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic and on 29 March 2020 the league confirmed that the season was cancelled. Preseason events Expansion and stadium changes One new team joined the league: Pioneros, based in Querétaro City. Due to Pioneros joining the LFA and the league failing to secure a tenth expansion team, thus raising the number of teams to nine, the LFA took the decision that the Mayas would not participate in the season, returning in 2021. Dinos de Saltillo (English: ''Saltillo Dinos'') are an American football team based in Saltillo, Mexico.
