Carlos Maslatón
Carlos Gustavo Maslatón (born 19 December 1958) is an Argentine lawyer, financial analyst, trader, bitcoin advocate, influencer, and former politician. Originally active in student politics, he was elected to the Buenos Aires City Council in 1987 as part of the Union of the Democratic Centre (UCEDE). Since 2021, he has been part of La Libertad Avanza. He briefly intended to run for president in the 2023 elections. Early life Maslatón was born on 19 December 1958 in Buenos Aires to a family of Syrian Jews active in the textile business. All his grandparents came from Damascus, except for his paternal grandmother, who was from İzmir. He studied at the University of Buenos Aires Faculty of Law, where he became politically active. Kavanagh Building
The Kavanagh Building () is a residential skyscraper in Retiro, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Designed in 1934 by architects Gregorio Sánchez, Ernesto Lagos and Luis María de la Torre, it is considered a pinnacle of modernist architecture. At the time of its inauguration in 1936, the Kavanagh was the tallest building in Latin America surpassing the Palacio Salvo built in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1928, as well as the tallest building in the world with a reinforced concrete structure. Primary elections in Argentina are called PASO (which stands for ''Primarias Abiertas Simultáneas y Obligatorias'', "Simultaneous and mandatory open primaries"). They were established in 2009 by the law 26,571. In this system, all parties run primary elections in each general election. All parties must take part, including both the parties with internal factions and parties with a single candidate list. Citizens may vote for any candidate of any party, but may only cast a single vote. Parties must also get 1.5% or higher of the vote to be allowed to run in the main election.
