Carlos Lomelí Bolaños
Carlos Lomelí Bolaños (born 5 August 1959) is a Mexican politician now affiliated with Morena. He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in the 2015 mid-terms and to the Senate in the 2024 general election. Life Lomelí attended the Universidad de Guadalajara, where he received his degree in surgery and obstetrics, and became an OB/GYN. He also taught at the university's preparatory school number 2. In 1999, Lomelí became the director general of Lomedic, S.A. de C.V., which began supplying medicine to IMSS clinics in Jalisco. In 2010, this contract earned the company 600 million pesos. Beneficiaries complained about supply issues and other irregularities, prompting the state health secretary to change providers. Lomedic lost the contract to another company, Dimesa, and immediately challenged the results in court. The Party of the Democratic Revolution (, , PRD) is a state-level social democracy, social democratic political party in Mexico (previously national, until 2024). The PRD originated from the Democratic Current, a political faction formed in 1986 from the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). Enrique Alfaro Ramírez (born June 20, 1973) is a Mexican politician who was the Governor of Jalisco from 2018 to 2024. In 2009, he served as mayor of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga. He mounted his gubernatorial campaign in 2012 under the Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) party but lost to the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). Alfaro Ramírez decided to run for mayor of Guadalajara that year and won the elections. After serving for three years, he ran for governor again under the MC and was victorious. This victory marked the MC's first gubernatorial win in its history. Within a week of the election results, however, he resigned from the MC and decided to be an independent governor, claiming he was never an active member of the MC. The electoral regions (''circunscripciones electorales'') of Mexico are geographic areas composed of various states used for the election of the 200 proportional representation legislators to the Chamber of Deputies. The country is split into five separate regions. Each of the five regions elects 40 deputies, who are selected according to party lists in the regions. To distinguish them from those elected in the 300 single-member constituencies, they are often referred to as " plurinominal deputies".
