Carlos Areces Maqueda (born 27 March 1976) is a Spanish actor, singer, and comics artist. He has performed in a number of television shows and in more than twenty films since 2002. He formed the musical duo Ojete Calor together with Aníbal Gómez. ''Muchachada Nui'' is a Spanish television comedy show, consisting of unrelated sketches that use absurd and surreal humour. It was broadcast on La 2 of Televisión Española. It is the sequel of La hora Chanante, that first aired on Paramount Comedy (Spain). Name Since Paramount Comedy owned the rights of the previous programme, including its name, "La Hora Chanante", a new name was needed. In a 2007 interview, the cast explained that "Muchachada Nui" is a combination of "muchachada", a common word in their manchego vocabulary meaning "a group of lads", and "nui" from "ojete nui", as in "cuando te pica el ojete porque no te has lavado bien" (when your arsehole itches because you haven't washed it well). La Hora Chanante (''The Whamming Hour'' or ''The Amazing Hour'') is a Spanish comedy television show aired through the cable/satellite local version of the Paramount Comedy channel. Each episode is a half hour long and consists of a series of unrelated sketches (both acted out and animated) and a story featuring some celebrity which helps keep continuity throughout the program. Episodes used to be released on a monthly basis until 2006, when the show was discontinued.
