Pietro Francesco Carlone
Pietro Francesco Carlone (Before 1607 – 1681–82), or Peter Franz Carlone, from the Leoben branch of the Carlone family, was an early Baroque architect who was best known for building abbeys. Life Carlone was born some time before 1607, from a family of builders and later Burgers of Leoben. He probably began his career in 1625 as an assistant to his father. Stories about his being involved in disturbances and serving a jail term as a youth are not clearly documented. In 1631 Carlone was resident in Röthelstein, where in 1650 he was described as a master stonemason. He worked among other projects on abbey buildings in Gurk (1637) and Göss (from 1652). In 1671 an order for sheet copper shows he was in Passau, in 1677 he was in Garsten, Judenburg and Seckau. In 1678 he was again in Garsten, where he made the designs for his sons to build the monastery church (1685–1693). Pietro Francesco Carlone died in Garsten. Taddeo Carlone (died 25 March 1613) was a Switzerland, Swiss-Italy, Italian sculptor and architect. His father, Giovanni, was a sculptor from Como. A native of Rovio, Switzerland, Rovio, in Ticino, he moved with his father to Genoa. Taddeo's brother Giuseppe was a sculptor with his brother, and later in Lombardy. Giovanni Bernardo Carlone
Giovanni Bernardo Carlone (1590–1630) was an Italian painter of the late-Mannerist and early- Baroque periods. He was born in Genoa. He was the son of Taddeo Carlone, a sculptor and historical painter, who placed him under the tuition of Pietro Sorri, and he afterwards frequented the school of Domenico Passignano at Florence. He returned to Genoa was much employed there and at Rome and Florence. He assisted his younger brother, Giovanni Battista Carlone in the immense fresco work in the Basilica della Santissima Annunziata del Vastato at Genoa, and was invited to Milan to paint the ceiling of the church of the Theatines, which he did not live to finish. It was completed by his brother. He died at Milan. Giovanni Battista Carlone (1603–1684) was an Italian painter of the Baroque period, active mainly in Genoa. Biography Carlone was born and died in Genoa. He came from a family of artists: his father Taddeo, uncle, and cousins were sculptors, and his older brother Giovanni Bernardo Carlone was a painter, trained in Rome and married to the daughter of Bernardo Castello. Giovanni Bernardo, however, died at age 40. His father owned a workshop where Carlone learned the sculpting trade and eventually inherited the business. Carlo Carlone
Carlo Innocenzo Carlone or Carloni (1686–1775) was an Italian painter and engraver, active especially in Germany. Biography He was a native of Scaria, near Como, in Lombardy, but may have been from the Carloni family of Genoese painters. He was the son of a sculptor, but he preferred painting, and was placed under the care of Giulio Quaglio. He subsequently trained also with Giovanni Battista Colomba. He afterwards studied at Venice and at Rome, with Francesco Trevisani until he was 23 years of age, when he visited Germany, where he has left works in oil and in fresco at Ludwigsburg, Passau, Linz, Breslau, Prague, and Vienna. He painted large decorative fresco cycles for palaces in Vienna, Prague and Southern Germany. Frankie Carle (born Francis Nunzio Carlone, March 25, 1903 – March 7, 2001) was an American pianist and bandleader. As a very popular bandleader in the 1940s and 1950s, Carle was nicknamed "The Wizard of the Keyboard". " Sunrise Serenade" was Carle's best-known composition, rising to No. 1 in the US in 1938 and selling more than one million copies. Early life Carle was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on March 25, 1903. Born the son of a factory worker who could not afford a piano, he practiced on a dummy keyboard devised by his uncle, pianist Nicholas Colangelo, until he found a broken-down instrument in a dance hall.
