Carl Rustad
Carl Emil Rustad (10 December 1881 – 1957) was a Norwegian military officer and director. He was born in Kristiania as a son of Lord Chamberlain Fredrik "Fritz" Frantz Michael Wilhelm Rustad (1852–1930) and Mistress of the Robes Marie Magdalena Schou (1859–1943). He was a maternal grandson of Halvor Schou. In 1909 he married Bergliot Heiberg, a sister of professor Jean Heiberg. He finished his secondary education in 1899, became an Artillery officer in 1902 and graduated from the Norwegian Military College in 1905. He served at an artillery and dragoon regiment in Lyon for ten months in 1906, then as an aspirant in the General Staff from 1906 to 1917 and military attaché in Stockholm and Petrograd from 1912 to 1917. He was promoted to captain in 1915 and major in 1929. He was decorated with the Order of St. Anna, 3rd Class, as a Knight, First Class of the Order of Vasa and Chevalier of the Legion of Honour. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. Oslo was founded as a city at the end of the Viking Age in 1040 under the name Ánslo, and established as a ''kaupstad'' or trading place in 1048 by Harald Hardrada. The city was elevated to a bishopric in 1070 and a capital under Haakon V of Norway around 1300. Personal unions with Denmark from 1397 to 1523 and again from 1536 to 1814 reduced its influence. It sold 211,769 copies in 2015 (172,029 printed copies according to University of Bergen) and estimated 1.2 million readers. It converted from broadsheet to compact format in March 2005. ''Aftenposten''s online edition is at Aftenposten.no. It is considered a newspaper of record for Norway. ''Aftenposten'' is a private company wholly owned by the public company Schibsted ASA. SK Fram (Oslo)
Skiklubben Fram was a Norwegian skiing club, based in Oslo but with its sporting facilities in Vestre Aker—and from 1902 to 1923 in Oppland. Fram was founded in 1889, and after a down period around 1900 it was refurbished as an exclusive gentlemen's social club in a skiing setting.
