Carl Everett
Carl Edward Everett III (born June 3, 1971) is an American former Major League Baseball outfielder. A switch hitter, he played for eight teams over the course of a 14-year career. He was a member of the Chicago White Sox when they won the 2005 World Series. He threw right-handed and played all outfield positions, and occasionally designated hitter. Early life Everett attended Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Florida, and was a letterman in football, baseball, and track. In football, he garnered 948 rushing yards as a senior. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. Quilvio Veras
Quilvio Alberto Veras Perez (born April 3, 1971) is a Dominican former professional baseball second baseman. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Florida Marlins, San Diego Padres, and Atlanta Braves. Veras has coached in the minor leagues for the Kansas City Royals organization following the conclusion of his playing career. Playing career Signed by the New York Mets as an amateur free agent in 1989, Veras was named to the Triple-A All-Star Game while playing for the Norfolk Tides in 1994. He was subsequently traded to the Florida Marlins for Carl Everett in November 1994, and made the Marlins' Opening Day roster, debuting at the major league level on April 25, 1995. 1992 MLB Expansion Draft
On November 17, 1992, during the 1992–93 offseason, Major League Baseball (MLB) held an expansion draft in New York City to allow two expansion teams, the Florida Marlins and Colorado Rockies, to build their rosters prior to debuting in the National League's (NL) East and West divisions, respectively, in the 1993 MLB season.
