Carl-Gustaf Styrenius
Carl-Gustaf Yngve Styrenius (17 June 1929 – 12 January 2023) was a Swedish classical archaeology, classical archaeologist. Biography Carl-Gustaf Styrenius was born in Helsingborg on 17 June 1929. He studied at Lund University, receiving a Master of Philosophy, MPhil degree in 1954 and a licentiate (degree), Lic. degree in philosophy in 1961. He was a teaching assistant at the Classical Department from 1950 to 1954 and at the university's Antiquities Museum in 1956–1959. In 1967, he received his Doctor of Philosophy, PhD degree after defending his thesis on Sub-Mycenaean pottery. He was appointed docent in classical antiquities and ancient history in Lund the same year. In 1963, he was appointed acting director of the Swedish Institute at Athens. He was director of the Institute from 1967 to 1970, as well as cultural attaché at the Embassy of Sweden, Athens, Swedish Embassy in Athens from 1963 to 1970. Carthage
Carthage was the capital city of Ancient Carthage, on the eastern side of the Lake of Tunis in what is now Tunisia. Carthage was one of the most important trading hubs of the Ancient Mediterranean and one of the most affluent cities of the classical world. The city developed from a Canaanite Phoenician colony into the capital of a Punic empire which dominated large parts of the Southwest Mediterranean during the first millennium BC. The legendary Queen Alyssa or Dido, originally from Tyre, is regarded as the founder of the city, though her historicity has been questioned. According to accounts by Timaeus of Tauromenium, she purchased from a local tribe the amount of land that could be covered by an oxhide. ''Svenska Dagbladet'' (, "The Swedish Daily News"), abbreviated SvD, is a daily newspaper published in Stockholm, Sweden. History and profile The first issue of ''Svenska Dagbladet'' appeared on 18 December 1884. During the beginning of the 1900s the paper was one of the right-wing publications in Stockholm. Ivar Anderson is among its former editors-in-chief who assumed the post in 1940. The same year ''Svenska Dagbladet'' was sold by Trygger family to the Enterprise Fund which had been established by fourteen Swedish businessmen to secure the ownership of the paper. Solna
Solna Municipality ( sv, Solna kommun or , ) is a municipality in Stockholm County in Sweden, located just north of Stockholm City Centre. Its seat is located in the town of Solna, which is a part of the Stockholm urban area. Solna is one of the richest municipalities in Sweden. The municipality is a part of Metropolitan Stockholm. None of the area is considered rural, which is unusual for Swedish municipalities, which normally are of mixed rural/urban character. The German Archaeological Institute (german: Deutsches Archäologisches Institut, ''DAI'') is a research institute in the field of archaeology (and other related fields). The DAI is a "federal agency" under the Federal Foreign Office of Germany. History Eduard Gerhard founded the institute. Upon his departure from Rome in 1832, the headquarters of the ''Instituto di corrispondenza archeologica'', as it was then named, was established in Berlin.
