Caribou (band)
Daniel Victor Snaith (born 29 March 1978) is a Canadian composer, musician, and recording artist. He has released 11 studio albums since 2000 and has recorded and performed under the stage names Caribou, Manitoba, and Daphni. His Caribou album ''Andorra'' (2008) was awarded the 2008 Polaris Music Prize, and his Caribou album '' Swim'' (2010) was a shortlisted nominee for the 2010 Polaris Music Prize and was named the Best Album of 2010 by ''Resident Advisor''. His follow-up '' Our Love'' (2014) was also shortlisted for the 2015 Polaris Music Prize and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album. During live Caribou performances, Snaith is joined by his longtime bandmates, Ryan Smith (guitar, keyboards), John Schmersal (bass, keyboards) and Brad Weber (drums), who expand upon Snaith's material for a live environment. Dundas () is a community and urban district in the city of Hamilton, Ontario, Hamilton in the Canadian province of Ontario. Battles is an American experimental rock group, founded in 2002 in New York City by Ian Williams (musician), Ian Williams (formerly of Don Caballero and Storm & Stress). The current line-up is a duo, composed of guitarist/keyboardist Williams and drummer John Stanier (drummer), John Stanier (formerly of Helmet (band), Helmet, Tomahawk (band), Tomahawk and The Mark of Cain (band), The Mark of Cain). All Tomorrow's Parties (ATP) was a UK organisation based in London that promoted music festivals, concerts and records throughout the world for over 10 years. It was founded by Barry Hogan in 2001 in preparation for the first All Tomorrow's Parties Festival, the line-up of which was picked by Mogwai and took place at Pontins, Camber Sands, England. Named after the song " All Tomorrow's Parties" by the Velvet Underground, the festival exhibited a tendency towards post-rock, indie rock, avant-garde music, and underground hip hop, along with more traditional rock fare presented in smaller venues than typical stadium performances.
