The Caribbean Circuit also known as the Caribbean Sunshine Circuit or Caribbean Tennis Tour was a series tour of tennis tournaments and part of the larger ILTF Central American & Caribbean Circuit held in the Caribbean region usually over a period of two to three months between January and March each year. The circuit began in the mid-1920s reaching prominence during the 1950s and 1960s. It declined in importance in the early 1970s due to an increase in indoor tournaments being staged,. and was eventually phased out. ILTF Central American & Caribbean Circuit
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) is the governing body of world tennis, wheelchair tennis, and beach tennis. It was founded in 1913 as the International Lawn Tennis Federation by twelve national tennis associations. As of 2016, there are 211 national and six regional associations that make up ITF's membership. The ITF's governance responsibilities include maintaining and enforcing the rules of tennis, regulating international team competitions, promoting the game, and preserving the sport's integrity via anti-doping and anti-corruption programs.
