Giosuè Carducci
Giosuè Alessandro Giuseppe Carducci (27 July 1835 – 16 February 1907) was an Italian poet, writer, literary critic and teacher. He was noticeably influential, and was regarded as the official national poet of modern Italy. In 1906, he became the first Italian to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. The Swedish Academy awarded him the prize "not only in consideration of his deep learning and critical research, but above all as a tribute to the creative energy, freshness of style, and lyrical force which characterize his poetic masterpieces." Bartolomeo Carducci
Bartolomeo Carducci (156014 November 1608) was an Italian painter, better known as Carducho, the Spanish corruption of his Italian patronymic. Biography Carducci was born in Florence, where he studied architecture and sculpture under Bartolomeo Ammannati, and painting under Federico Zuccari. He assisted Zuccari with the completion of '' The Last Judgment'' on the ceiling of the dome of Florence Cathedral. The latter master he accompanied to Madrid, where he painted the ceiling of the Escorial library, assisting also in the production of the frescos that adorn the cloisters of that noted palace. Between 1604 and 1606, Carducci painted the reliquary altarpieces of San Diego de Valladolid, with the assistance of his brother Vincenzo Carducci. They are now exhibited in National Museum of Sculpture. Among Carducci's pupils was Francisco López. Joe Carducci
Joe Carducci is an American writer, record producer, and former A&R executive, formerly most closely associated with the influential record label SST Records. Carducci lived for a time in Chicago before moving to Hollywood in 1976. From 1981 to 1986 he was an A&R man, record producer, and co-owner of SST Records, working with, among other bands, Minutemen, Saint Vitus, Meat Puppets, Black Flag and Saccharine Trust. He also ran his own record label, Thermidor Records, which released albums by The Birthday Party, Minutemen, Oil Tasters, Flipper, Nig Heist, SPK and Al Jourgensen's pre- Ministry band Special Affect. He wrote lyrics for the song "Jesus & Tequila" by Minutemen ('' Double Nickels on the Dime'', 1984) and "Chinese Firedrill" from Mike Watt's 1995 solo album '' Ball-Hog or Tugboat?''. Vincenzo Carducci
Vincenzio Carduccio (in Spanish, sometimes ''Vicencio'' or Vicente Carducho; 1576 or 1578–1638) was an Italian painter who spent his career in Spain. Education and training He was born in Florence and was trained as a painter by his brother Bartolomeo Carduccio, whom he followed to Madrid as a boy. While attached to the Spanish court since about 1585, his presence in Spain is first documented in 1601. He initially painted some works at Valladolid and helped his brother paint the Escorial for Philip II of Spain. He returned to the court of Philip III in Madrid in 1606 and helped decorate the recently rebuilt Palacio del Pardo. While at work his brother died, and Vicente took his place. He painted there a history of Achilles. When finished, he was employed for four years by the monks of the Chartreuse of el Paular to decorate their monastery with 54 canvases of historical figures in the great cloister. 27 represent the life of St. Bruno, and 27 are of martyrs. ...
