''Cardiff Festivals'' are a series of festivals held in the capital of Wales, Cardiff and nearby areas every summer. The festival started back in the 1980s and are organised by several associations. The Extreme Sailing Series (ESS) (formerly the iShares Cup) was an annual global racing series, organised by OC Sport, which ran from 2007 to 2018. The series started in 2007 with its main attraction being the stadium racing which puts the race course inside a stadium environment for the ease of spectators' viewing. Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival is an annual food festival held in Cardiff, Wales. Overview The festival is held over three days during July, from Friday to Sunday, at Roald Dahl Plas (The Oval Basin) in Cardiff Bay, next to the Mermaid Quay complex. There are over 100 local, national and international producers. There is a Street Food Piazza, a Producers’ Fayre and Farmers’ Market. The Street Food Piazza is the biggest outdoor street food piazza in Wales, with numerous bars and stalls along the water’s edge at Cardiff Bay. Pride Cymru
Pride Cymru (previously Cardiff Mardi Gras) is an LGBT pride festival held annually in Cardiff, Wales on the August bank holiday weekend. Pride Cymru's Big Weekend is Wales's biggest celebration of equality and diversity. Over 3 days, Pride Cymru hosts over 50,000 people in the Welsh capital to raise awareness of equality and diversity and supporting the LGBT+ community. As part of the festival, there are various cabaret performances, funfair rides, live music, bars and food stalls, and a family area. Etymology Despite the Welsh language having the word for 'Pride' (Balchder), the English term is used instead to promote the event.
