Cardiff Business School
Cardiff Business School () is the business school of Cardiff University in Cardiff, Wales. It was created in its current form in 1987 and opened by Elizabeth II. Cardiff Business School currently serves 3,000 students a year, 700 of whom are postgraduate students. The school's research programme is Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) recognised and has 140 PhD students currently studying within the school. Its research informs organisations such as the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the United Nations, HM Treasury, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department for Communities and Local Government and working on consultation projects for blue-chip, global firms. William Stanley Jevons
William Stanley Jevons (; 1 September 1835 – 13 August 1882) was an English economist and logician. Irving Fisher described Jevons's book ''A General Mathematical Theory of Political Economy'' (1862) as the start of the mathematical method in economics. It made the case that economics, as a science concerned with Real versus nominal value (economics), quantities, is necessarily mathematical. In so doing, it expounded upon the "final" (marginal) utility theory of value. Jevons' work, along with similar discoveries made by Carl Menger in Vienna (1871) and by Léon Walras in Switzerland (1874), marked the opening of a new period in the history of economic thought. Gavin Ramjaun
Gavin Ramjaun (born 13 December 1981) is a British journalist known for his work with the BBC, Sky Sports and ITV Breakfast. His parents hail from Mauritius. He was born in Worcester. Education Ramjaun was educated at the University of Cardiff's Cardiff Business School, where he obtained two degrees, followed by City University London, where he obtained a Postgraduate Degree in Journalism. Sue Owen (civil Servant)
Dame Susan Jane Owen (born 3 June 1955) is a former British civil servant, economist and former academic. She served as the Permanent Secretary for the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport from October 2013 until her retirement in March 2019. Spencer Dale (born 12 January 1967) is a British economist who sat on the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee from 2008 through 2014, including a period as Chief Economist. He is currently the group chief economist of BP. David Graham Blanchflower, (born 2 March 1952), sometimes called Danny Blanchflower, is a British-American labour economist and academic. He is currently a tenured economics professor at Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire. Paul Atherton (born 20 March 1968) is a London-based filmmaker. He produced and directed ''The Ballet of Change'', a series of four short films that were projected onto London landmarks.
