Carbir Race Cars is an American race car constructor. History Sports 2000 Carbir Race Cars was founded in 1995. The first car to be designed and produced was the Carbir CS2. The Carbir CS2 went on to dominate the American Cities Racing League and the Sports Car Club of America, SCCA Sports 2000 class. In 1998 the first Carbir was entered in the SCCA National Championship Runoffs. John Fergus, II finished second in the S2000 class behind David Downey (racing driver), David Downey in a Lola Cars, Lola T89/90. Fergus, II would win the Runoffs in the S2000 class in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2011. USF2000 While designing the CS2 the Carbir crew also designed the Carbir DS3 U.S. F2000 National Championship car. F1600 Championship Series
The F1600 Championship Series was created by the SCCA in 2011. The series is organized by Formula Race Promotions, the same organization which organizes the F2000 Championship Series, and sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing. It is a series whose champion is eligible for the Road to Indy Shootout provided the driver is of an eligible age, and has the necessary skills to operate such machine. The Series The class uses the Sports Car Club of America regulations for the Ford Kent engine-based Formula Ford regulations, which includes the option of either the Ford Kent or Honda L engine, Honda L15A7 engine. Therefore, many drivers from the local club racing scene make their appearance in the national series. 2011 Season The first year saw many club racers and well established constructors racing in the series. 2013 F1600 Championship Series Season
The 2013 F1600 Championship Series season was the third season of the F1600 Championship Series. Eighteen-year-old Jake Eidson from Littleton, Colorado won the championship driving for Cape Motorsports w/ Wayne Taylor Racing. Eidson won seven of the twelve races and captured a race win in all but one of the series' weekend double-headers. Sports 2000
Sports 2000 is a restricted-rules class of two-seat, mid-engined, open-cockpit, full-bodied sports-prototype racecar used largely in amateur road racing. Sometimes known as S2000 or S2, the class was developed by John Webb, then of the Brands Hatch racing circuit in England, as an affordable form of sports car racing, essentially a sports car version of Formula Ford 2000. The key attributes of the class were a body design reminiscent of two-liter Group 6 sports racing cars like the Chevron B21 and Lola T-212 but with an ultra-reliable and inexpensive drivetrain comprising a two-liter "Pinto" overhead camshaft engine with very limited allowed modifications and the well-proven, VW-based Hewland Mk 9 transaxle. Tõnis Kasemets
Tõnis Kasemets (born March 17, 1974) is an Estonian racing driver and a former competitor in the CART Champ Car World Series. He won the 2022 IMSA Prototype Challenge championship. Career Kasemets started racing karts in 1982, winning the Baltic championships in 1992 and 1993. In 1995, Kasemets moved to the United States to race in the American series. He advanced through the open wheel ranks and by 2004 was in the Toyota Atlantic series. In 2005 he placed second in the series championship to Charles Zwolsman Jr.. He participated in a partial 2006 schedule in the Champ Car World Series for Paul Gentilozzi's Rocketsports Racing. To participate in Champ Car in 2006 he had to gather funds for a quarter of the participation costs. Kasemets wanted to do a full season of Champ Car in 2007 and in the future he wants to own a successful team à la Newman-Haas and Forsythe. Formula Ford, also known as F1600 and Formula F, is an entry-level class of single-seater, open-wheel formula racing. The various championships held across the world have historically been an important step for many prospective Formula One drivers. Daytona Prototype
A Daytona Prototype was a type of sports prototype racing car developed specifically for the Grand-Am Road Racing, Grand American Road Racing Association's Rolex Sports Car Series as their top class of car, which replaced their main prototype racing class, specifically Le Mans Prototypes (LMPs). The cars later competed in the merged series of the IMSA SportsCar Championship, from 2014 to 2016, before being phased out and replaced by the Daytona Prototype International class in 2017.
