Captain Lash
''Captain Lash'' is 1929 American silent adventure drama film directed by John G. Blystone and starring Victor McLaglen, Claire Windsor and Jane Winton. It was produced and distributed by the Fox Film Corporation. A copy of the film exists at the UCLA The film was released with a music score and sound effects track. Plot Lash is the head coal stoker on a steam ship whose shipmates have nicknamed "Captain". Lash somehow grabs the attention of society dame passenger Cora Nevins. Nevins is actually a jewel thief who's lifted diamonds from wealthy passenger Arthur Condrax. She needs Lash to aid in sneaking the "ice" ashore at Singapore. Cocky is Lash's concertina-playing buddy and uses it to signal Lash. Arthur Stone (born Arthur Taylor Goetze; November 28, 1883 – September 4, 1940) was an American character actor of the late silent and early sound film eras. Biography Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on November 28, 1883, Stone entered the film industry by starring in several film shorts for the Hal Roach Studios in 1924 and 1925. 1926 would see his first appearance in a feature film, '' Miss Nobody'', directed by Lambert Hillyer and starring Walter Pidgeon. During the remainder of the silent era, he would appear in over a dozen films, in either supporting or starring roles. 1926 would see him in supporting roles, but 1927 and 1928 would see him move up to star billing in such films as '' The Valley of the Giants'' (1927), ''The Farmer's Daughter'' (1928), and ''Chicken a la King'' (1928). Foxes are small to medium-sized, omnivorous mammals belonging to several genera of the family Canidae. Marcelle Corday
Marcelle Corday (8 January 1890 – 25 June 1971) was a Belgian-born American actress. She mostly played character parts in silent and sound films. Corday was a niece of violinist Eugène Ysaÿe. She learned to play violin and piano, studying at the Conservatoire de Paris and was a concert pianist until she fell and broke her arm. After that injury, she turned her attention to acting. She acted in Paris with the Vieux Colombier company, headed by Jacques Copeau. She came to New York with that troupe in 1917 and remained in the United States when its engagements ended. Not limited to English-speaking roles, Corday acted in Dutch, French, German, and Italian. In the 1920–21 season, she acted with Ethel Barrymore in ''Declassee''. Corday moved to California in 1923 and began working in films thereafter.
