Capital Breakfast (London)
''Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Siân Welby'' is a British national breakfast radio show on Capital. The show is broadcast from 6am to 10am each weekday. https://www.capitalfm.com/radio/shows-presenters/capital-breakfast/ A national version of the programme began on 8 April 2019 forcing the local variations across the UK to be axed. Capital North West And Wales
Capital North West and North Wales is a regional radio station owned and operated by Global as part of the Capital network. It broadcasts to Cheshire, the Wirral Peninsula & North Wales. The station was previously part of the Heart radio network, which began broadcasting on 2 July 2010 as a result of a merger between Heart Cheshire and North East Wales (formerly Marcher Sound), Heart Wirral (formerly Wirral's Buzz) and Heart North Wales Coast (formerly Coast 96.3). It switched to Capital on 6 May 2014. History The regional station originally broadcast as three separate stations - Marcher Sound began broadcasting to North East Wales and Cheshire in January 1983, MFM 97.1 (later Wirral's Buzz) served the Wirral and parts of east Flintshire since March 1989 and Marcher Coast (later Coast 96.3) broadcast to the North Wales Coast from August 1993 onwards. Johnny Vaughan
Jonathan Randal Vaughan (born 16 July 1966) is an English television and radio presenter and a film critic. He was the main presenter of '' Capital Breakfast'' alongside Lisa Snowdon on 95.8 Capital FM between 2004 and 2011. Graham Dene
Graham Dene (born 7 April 1949) is a British radio personality. Biography After a period as a disc jockey on Edgware General Hospital's radio, and at United Biscuits Network, he became famous in the London area as Capital Radio's breakfast presenter in the 1970s, having joined from Radio City in Liverpool. He took over the breakfast show from Kenny Everett in May 1975, and stayed there until Mike Smith took over the slot in July 1980. When Smith left to rejoin BBC Radio 1 in 1982, Dene returned for a second stint as breakfast host, staying until March 1987 when Chris Tarrant took over. For several years in the 1980s, Dene hosted a radio show, ''Rock Over London'', that was produced and distributed to radio stations in the United States, particularly stations that programmed New Wave or new, eclectic music. Mike Smith (broadcaster)
Michael George Smith (23 April 1955 – 1 August 2014), also known by the on-air nickname of Smithy, was an English television and radio presenter, racing driver, pilot and businessman. During the 1980s, he was known for his appearances on BBC1 as a co-host of '' Breakfast Time'' and the music show ''Top of the Pops''. Smith died on 1 August 2014 from complications of heart failure following major heart surgery. David Charles Wish (18 July 1942 – 21 October 2016), known as Dave Cash, was a British-Canadian radio presenter who latterly worked for BBC Radio Kent, having had previous spells at Radio London, BBC Radio 1, Capital London, Radio West (he was launch programme controller at the Bristol station), Invicta Radio, Country 1035 and PrimeTime Radio. Kenny Everett
Kenny Everett (born Maurice James Christopher Cole; 25 December 1944 – 4 April 1995) was an English radio Disc Jockey, DJ and television entertainer, known for his zany comedic style. After spells on pirate radio and Radio Luxembourg in the mid-1960s, he was one of the first DJs to join BBC Radio's newly created BBC Radio 1 in 1967. It was here he developed his trademark voices and comical characters which he later adapted for television. Everett was dismissed from the BBC in 1970 after making a flippant comment on air after a news item concerning a government minister's wife. He was later re-instated at the BBC, working both on local and national radio, but, in 1973, when commercial radio became licensed in the UK, he joined Capital Radio. David Symonds
David Symonds (born 28 June 1943) is an English Radio DJ. He was among the original lineup of BBC Radio 1 in 1967 and one of the original Capital Radio DJs. Early life and career Symonds was born in Oxford, the son of Pamela and Ronald Symonds, respectively author of the ''Let’s Speak French'' textbooks and a former acting head of MI5. His grandfather was the neurologist Sir Charles Symonds. He spent a year at Oxford University reading botany. He then moved to New Zealand and started a career as an actor, but began working for NZBC news, reading and general announcing on television and radio. Chris Tarrant
Christopher John Tarrant (born 10 October 1946) is a retired English broadcaster, television personality, radio DJ and stand up comedian. He is best known for presenting the ITV children's television show '' Tiswas'' from 1974 to 1981, and the game show ''Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'' from its inception in 1998 until 2014. Capital Scotland (formerly known as Beat 106, XFM Scotland, and later Galaxy Scotland) is a regional radio station owned by Communicorp UK and operated by Global. It broadcasts to Scotland's Central Belt, an area surrounding the two cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. History Beat 106 Beat 106 was established by the Big Beat Group, headed up by a group of nightclub promoters from Glasgow, and first aired on 19 November 1999 as a new rock and dance station.
