The Cape Town Civic Centre is a building in the Foreshore area of Cape Town, South Africa that serves as the headquarters of the City of Cape Town - the municipality that governs the city. It was completed in 1978 by Concor, and is made up of two blocks. Foreshore, Cape Town
The Foreshore is an area in Cape Town, South Africa, situated in the city's central business district (CBD), between the historic city centre and the Port of Cape Town. It is built on land reclaimed from Table Bay in the 1930s and 1940s, in connection with the construction of the Duncan Dock, to replace the old harbor. Much of the Foreshore area is occupied by transport infrastructure for the port and Cape Town Railway Station. Other notable buildings in the area are the Cape Town Civic Centre, the Artscape Theatre Centre, and the Cape Town International Convention Centre. It is active throughout Southern Africa, involved in civil engineering, buildings, roads and mining projects. Concor returned as an independent brand in late 2016. The Cape Town Cycle Tour, formerly known as the Cape Argus Cycle Tour, is an annual cycle race hosted in Cape Town, South Africa, usually long. It is the first event outside Europe to be included in the Union Cycliste Internationale's Golden Bike Series. South Africa hosts some of the largest, by the number of entrants, sporting events in the world with three being the largest of their type. The Cape Town Cycle Tour, with as many as 35,000 cyclists taking part, is the world's largest individually timed cycle race. The other two are the world's largest ultra-marathon running event, the Comrades Marathon, and the world's largest open water swim, the Midmar Mile. MyCiTi
MyCiti is a bus rapid transit service in Cape Town, South Africa. Operating with feeders, it forms part of a greater Integrated Public Transport driven economic development strategy of the City of Cape Town (CoCT) Metropolitan Municipality in the Western Cape province. The service is actively being rolled out across Cape Town, and currently provides public transport in about 10% of the city. MyCiTi commenced in 2010 with Phase 1, which features buses running north to south, along Cape Town's western coastline. In November 2015 approximately 60,000 daily passenger journeys were made on the MyCiTi service, on 36 routes, using 42 bus stations and more than 600 bus stops, in about 223 peak buses.
