Capcom Pro Tour 2017
The 2017 Capcom Pro Tour was the fourth edition of the Capcom Pro Tour, an annual season of ''Street Fighter V'' tournaments that are officially sponsored by Capcom. The 2017 Capcom Pro Tour followed several months after the "Season 2" update of ''Street Fighter V'' and started off with Final Round 20 on March 10. Much like the 2016 season, this season featured fifteen Premier Events, a few dozen smaller tournaments, several online tournaments, and Evo 2017, the Evolution Championship. In these tournaments, competitors gained points needed to qualify for the 2017 Capcom Cup, which was held in December. Background Shortly after Capcom Cup 2016 was played, Capcom rolled out a major update for ''Street Fighter V'' titled "Season 2". The Capcom Pro Tour is a series of international fighting game esports, tournaments sponsored by video game developer Capcom. Balrog (Street Fighter)
Balrog is a fictional character in Capcom's ''Street Fighter'' series. He made his first appearance in '' Street Fighter II: The World Warrior'' in 1991. In the series, he is a disgraced boxer and antagonist who works for M. Bison's organization, Shadaloo. Conception and development Balrog is depicted as an African-American boxer wearing blue trunks with white trim and a torn white shirt under a blue tank top, wearing red boxing gloves and boxing shoes. In sport, seeding is the practice of separating the most skilled competitors from each other in the early rounds of a tournament. Players or teams are "planted" into the bracket in such a manner that the best do not meet until later in the competition, usually based on ranking from the regular season.
