Caorle Lighthouse
Caorle Lighthouse ( it, Faro di Caorle) is an active lighthouse located on a little promontory at the end of the waterfront promenade in Caorle, Veneto on the Adriatic Sea. Description The lighthouse, established in 1905, consists of a quadrangular bell tower, high, belonging to the Church of the Blessed Virgin of the Angel, and the light is placed on a bracket on the sea side of the tower. The tower was built in bricks in the 13th century in Romanesque architecture; the light is positioned at above sea level and emits two white flashes in a 6 seconds period, visible up to a distance of . The lighthouse is completely automated and managed by the Marina Militare with the identification code number 4272 E.F. Caorle
Caorle (; vec, Càorle) is a coastal town in the Metropolitan City of Venice, Veneto, northern Italy, located between the estuaries of the Livenza and Lemene rivers. It is situated on the Adriatic Sea between two other tourist towns, Eraclea and Bibione. History The ancient name of the city was ''Caprulae'' (possibly because of the wild goats that grazed in this area, or in honour of pagan goddess Capris); Caorle was founded in the 1st century BC by Romans.
