Canyonville is a city in Douglas County, Oregon, United States. The population was 1,884 at the 2010 census. The main regional tourist attraction, the Seven Feathers Casino Resort is in Canyonville. The Weaver-Worthington Farmstead, a National Historical Landmark, is located near Canyonville. Geography The city lies along Interstate 5 about north of the Oregon–California border and about south of Portland, Oregon. Canyon Creek flows through Canyonville, where it joins the South Umpqua River. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , all of it land. Climate Canyonville is classified as having a Mediterranean climate (Köppen: ''Csb''), with some characteristics of an oceanic climate (''Cfb'') due to its cool temperatures. Seven Feathers Casino Resort
Seven Feathers Casino Resort is a 298-room, American Automobile Association, AAA three-star hotel and casino located in Canyonville, Oregon, Canyonville, Oregon, United States. The casino is owned by the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians. At , with of gaming space, it is the largest facility of its kind in Southern Oregon. The resort attracts over one million visitors annually. History The casino originally opened as the 450-seat Cow Creek Bingo Hall in April 1992. The South Umpqua River is a tributary of the Umpqua River, approximately long, in southwestern Oregon in the United States. It drains part of the Cascade Range east of Roseburg. The river passes through a remote canyon in its upper reaches then emerges in the populated South Umpqua Valley east of Canyonville. Course It rises in the high Cascades north of Fish Mountain, formed by the confluence of two short forks in eastern Douglas County approximately northwest of Crater Lake.
