Canvas Back Duck
''Canvas Back Duck'' is a 1953 Walt Disney animated short film starring Donald Duck, his nephews, and Pete. Plot Donald Duck and his nephews visit a carnival. While they play games, Donald is tricked by a shifty barker into fighting "Pee Wee Pete" ( Pegleg Pete), a truculent bruiser who significantly outweighs Donald. In spite of help from his nephews, the situation looks desperate for Donald, until his fist accidentally connects with Pete's jaw, which breaks as a visual gag for him having a glass jaw and he collapses to the canvas out cold. Donald wins the prize money and exits the carnival triumphantly with his nephews. Jack Hannah
John Fredrick Hannah (January 5, 1913 – June 11, 1994) was an American animator, writer and director of animated shorts. He worked for Disney and Walter Lantz. Biography Hannah was born on January 5, 1913, in Nogales, Arizona. After attending grammar school in Nogales, Arizona and high school in National City, California, he moved to Los Angeles in 1931 to study at the Art Guild Academy. One of his first jobs was designing movie posters for Hollywood theaters for the advertising firm Foster & Kleiser. In 1933, during the Great Depression, Hannah dropped off his portfolio at Walt Disney Studios, and soon afterward was hired as an in-between and clean-up artist, working on Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Silly Symphony cartoons. Pete (Disney)
Pete (also named Peg Leg Pete, Bad Pete and Black Pete, among other names) is a cartoon character created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks of The Walt Disney Company. Pete is traditionally depicted as the villainous arch-nemesis of Mickey Mouse, and was made notorious for his repeated attempts to kidnap Minnie Mouse. Pete is the oldest continuing Disney character, having debuted in the cartoon '' Alice Solves the Puzzle'' in 1925. He originally bore the appearance of an anthropomorphic bear, but with the advent of Mickey in 1928, he was defined as a cat.
