The Canton of Besançon-Planoise is a former Cantons of France, administrative division in the departement of Doubs (departement), Doubs and in Franche-Comté region. Besançon (, ; , ; archaic ; ) is the capital of the Departments of France, department of Doubs in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Jean-Louis Fousseret (born 23 December 1946) is a French politician. A member of La République En Marche!, Fousseret was Governor of the Canton of Besançon-Planoise from 1988 to 2001 and a Member of Parliament of the district of Doubs from 1997 to 2002. He was Mayor (France), mayor of Besançon and president of Grand Besançon Métropole from 2001 to 2020. Biography Fousseret was born in the French city of Besançon (Doubs, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté). A technician in microtechnology, he graduated from the watchmaking school of Besançon and worked in the computer industry from 1967 to 1997. Barbara Romagnan
Barbara Romagnan is a teacher and a French politician who was a member of the Socialist Party (France), Socialist Party since 1995. She later joined the 1 July Movement. Biography Barbara Romagnan was born 25 April 1974 in the city of Annecy. After studies in Lyon (Rhône) she obtained a doctorate in political science in 2003, with a thesis titled 'Do women do politics differently?' and she was a socialist and feminist activist. Romagnan taught philosophy at the Dannemarie-sur-Crète high school, and also taught medical-social sciences at Besançon. Since 2003, Romagnan has been a member of the national chamber of Socialist Party and was the national secretary for the reunification of the party, from 2005 to 2008.
