Cantiere Popolare
Cantiere Popolare (translatable into ''Popular construction site'') is a Christian-democratic political party in Italy, based in Sicily. The party's leader is Francesco Saverio Romano, a former Sicilian leader of the Union of the Centre and, later, minister of Agriculture in Silvio Berlusconi's fourth government. History The CP was launched in January 2012 as an evolution of The Populars of Italy Tomorrow (PID), a Sicilian-based Christian-democratic emerged in 2010 as a split from the Union of the Centre (UdC). Francesco Saverio Romano
Francesco Saverio Romano (born 24 December 1964) is an Italian politician and lawyer. He served as the minister of agricultures in 2011 and a member of the Chamber of Deputies between 2001 and 2018. Early life and education Romano was born in Palermo on 24 December 1964. He holds a law degree, which he received from the University of Palermo in 1988. He was a board member of the Opera Universitaria. He joined the Christian Democracy party when he was a university student. Career Romano became a member of the provincial council of Palermo in 1990. From 1993 to 1994 he served as the councillor for viability. From 1997 to 2001 he was the president of IRCAC, a credit institution in Sicily. He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies from his constituency, Bagheria, in 2001. He was the secretary of state for labour in the third cabinet of Silvio Berlusconi. 2018 Italian General Election
The 2018 Italian general election was held on 4 March 2018 after the Italian Parliament was dissolved by President Sergio Mattarella on 28 December 2017. Voters were electing the 630 members of the Chamber of Deputies and the 315 elective members of the Senate of the Republic for the 18th legislature of the Italian Republic since 1948. The election took place concurrently with the Lombard and Lazio regional elections. No party or coalition gained an absolute majority in the parliament, even though the centre-right coalition won a plurality of seats as a coalition, and the Five Star Movement (M5S) won a plurality of seats as an individual party. Nello Musumeci
Sebastiano "Nello" Musumeci (born 21 January 1955) is a right-wing Italian politician. Musumeci is serving as Minister for Civil Protection and Sea Policies since 22 October 2022 in the government of Giorgia Meloni. He previously served as President of Sicily from 18 November 2017 until 13 October 2022. Moreover, he was a Member of the European Parliament for the Italian seat Islands, where he was a member of the Union for a Europe of Nations parliamentary group. 2017 Sicilian Regional Election
The 2017 Sicilian regional election for the renewal of the Sicilian Regional Assembly and the election of the President of Sicily was held on 5 November 2017. The 2013 Italian general election was held on 24 and 25 February 2013 to determine the 630 members of the Chamber of Deputies and the 315 elective members of the Senate of the Republic for the 17th Italian Parliament. Extended Christian Pact
The Extended Christian Pact (''Patto Cristiano Esteso'', PACE) was a Christian-conservative political party in Italy founded by Gilberto Perri in 1994. The party takes example from the Christian Coalition in the United States and is one of the few examples of Christian right parties in Europe. Although most of its members are Evangelicals or Pentecostals, the party is not officially associated with any denomination. The party's founder and leader is Gilberto Perri, a Pentecostal pastor, who has been one of the founding members of Christian Coalition International with Pat Robertson in 1999. PACE has been affiliated to the House of Freedoms coalition and generally sides with the Italian centre-right. The fourth Berlusconi government was the 60th government of Italy, in office from 8 May 2008 to 16 November 2011. It was the fourth government led by Silvio Berlusconi, who then became the longest-serving Prime Minister of Italy of the Italian Republic (3340 days in office).
