Legalise Cannabis Queensland, registered with the Electoral Commission Queensland as Legalise Cannabis Queensland (Party), is a single-issue political party based in Queensland, Australia. British Columbia Marijuana Party
The British Columbia Marijuana Party (abbreviated BCMP) was a minor political party in the Canadian province of British Columbia that advocated the legalisation of cannabis. The BCMP was formed following the 2000 federal election. Marc Emery, the founder and current president of the party, formed the party the day after the 2000 vote. The BCMP made provincial history during the 2001 provincial election that came six months later, by being the only party to ever field candidates in all of the province's ridings during their first election campaign. The Saskatchewan Marijuana Party was a provincial political party based in Saskatchewan, Canada. The party contested the 2007 Saskatchewan general election and failed to win any seats, securing less than one percent of the vote. History The seeds of the Saskatchewan Marijuana Party were planted by Marc Emery, a founding member of the Canadian federal Marijuana Party and former leader of the British Columbia Marijuana Party. In March 2004, Emery was arrested in Saskatoon for trafficking after passing a joint to another person while attending a pro-cannabis rally at the University of Saskatchewan (U of S). Emery was sentenced to three months in jail. While he served his sentence, two protestors staged a vigil outside the Provincial Courthouse in response. The Bloc Pot is a provincial political party in Quebec, Canada, that is dedicated to ending cannabis prohibition.
