Candice Mwakalyelye
Candace Mwakalyelye is a TV and radio broadcaster and media practitioner. Early life Mwakalyelye was born on 8 August 1986. Not much is known about her birthplace and parentage although other sources say she is half Tanzanian and half Zimbabwean. Career Mwakalyelye, whose nickname is NdiCandice or Malkia, the Lion Queen, is a TV and radio broadcaster, media practitioner, MC and brand ambassador who is currently based in Zimbabwe. She has worked in Tanzania for broadcasting stations there as well as in the private sector. She worked for ZiFM from 2012, a radio station in Zimbabwe and left in 2016 before returning in 2018. She is a winner of various awards including the Megafest National Business Awards - Media and Business Information Personality of the Year (2013), Zimbabwe International Women Awards- Media Professional of the Year (2015). ZiFM Stereo
ZiFM Stereo is a Zimbabwean private commercial radio station that is based in the country's capital, Harare. It broadcasts throughout the country on FM. It began broadcasting on 15 August 2012. It is Zimbabwe's first free to air radio station to stream online. It is also known to be the country's first privately owned radio station. It was launched just months after the launch of the state owned Star FM, which started broadcasting on 25 June of the same year. ZiFM took part in the historical tribute to the veteran Zimbabwean broadcaster, Peter Johns who died in London on 27 April 2020. The hour-long multicast that took place on 2 May 2020 was also streamed live on Power FM and Star FM. Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (Z.A.A.) also referred to as Zim Achievers Awards is an awards ceremony that seeks to recognise Zimbabweans based in the diaspora for outstanding and notable achievements. Among the awards recipients include Hollywood actress Danai Gurira of The Walking Dead TV Series, and Black Panther; Chipo Chung as well as Luthuli Dhlamini of South Africa's TV Series Generations. History The Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (Z.A.A.) was founded in 2010 by Conrad Mwanza, a Zimbabwean businessman who is based in the United Kingdom.
