Candando
Candando is an Angolan hypermarket chain. It was founded in 2007 by the retail group Contidis group. It is owned by Isabel dos Santos, the eldest daughter of Angola's former president José Eduardo Dos Santos. History Candando opened its first hypermarket in Luanda in May 2016, following an investment of $40 million (€33.8 million). The second store opened in April 2017 in Talatona, on the outskirts of Luanda. The third store opened in December 2017 in Viana, about 30 kilometers from the capital, Luanda. The hypermarket has an area of 4,300 square meters and employs 375 people. At the time of the opening of the first hypermarket, Osório announced plans for ten Candando stores within five years, for an overall investment of $400 million (€338 million). In 2015, Portuguese retail group Sonae sold its 47% stake in Contidis, the holding company that owned the hypermarkets. Talatona is an city and municipality in the province of Luanda, bordering the Angolan capital, Luanda. It was designed by the Angolan government to reduce traffic in central Luanda; Its infrastructure was built in a location south of Luanda, which currently houses several administrative and economic services that were relocated from the central zone of the capital. Lubango
Lubango, formerly known as Sá da Bandeira, is a municipality in Angola, capital of the Huíla Province, with a population of 914,456 in 2022. The city center had a population of 600,751 in 2014 making it the second-most populous city in Angola after the capital city Luanda. José Eduardo Dos Santos
José Eduardo dos Santos (; 28 August 1942 – 8 July 2022) was the president of Angola from 1979 to 2017. As president, dos Santos was also the commander-in-chief of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and president of the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), the party that has ruled Angola since it won independence in 1975. He was the second-longest-serving president in Africa, surpassed only by Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea. Dos Santos joined the MPLA, then an anti-colonial movement, while still in school, and earned degrees in petroleum engineering and radar communications while studying in the Soviet Union. Viana, Luanda
Viana is an city and one of the nine municipalities that make up the province of Luanda in Angola. Viana lies 15 to 30 kilometers east as a suburb of the capital Luanda and has a population of 2,092,439 (2022), including about 6,000 long-term refugees primarily from Katanga Province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
