Canberra MRT Station
Canberra MRT station is an elevated Mass Rapid Transit (Singapore), Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the North–South MRT line, North–South line, located along Canberra Link at the junction with Canberra Way in Sembawang, Singapore. It is the second infill station on the MRT network (after Dover MRT station), and the first in Singapore with a platform linked directly to an overhead bridge at the same level. With several green features included in the station during construction, it was also the first MRT station to be awarded Platinum for the Building and Construction Authority, Building and Construction Authority's Green Mark for Transit Stations, as a result of the construction team's efforts to integrate landscaping and using eco-friendly materials in the construction of the station. Canberra Railway Station
Canberra railway station is located in Kingston, Australian Capital Territory, Kingston, a suburb of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, serving the national capital. It is located on a branch of the Bombala railway line and is served by NSW TrainLink Southern services. Khaw Boon Wan ( zh, s=许文远, p=Xǔ Wényuǎn, poj=Khó͘ Bûn-oán; born 8 December 1952) is a Malaysian-born Singaporean former politician who served as Minister for Transport between 2015 and 2020, Minister for National Development between 2011 and 2015, and Minister for Health between 2003 and 2011. A pile or piling is a vertical structural element of a deep foundation, driven or drilled deep into the ground at the building site. A deep foundation is a type of foundation (architecture), foundation that transfers building loads to the earth farther down from the surface than a shallow foundation does to a subsurface layer or a range of depths. Pasir Ris Rail Accident
The Pasir Ris rail accident occurred on 22 March 2016 at the track switch near Pasir Ris station in Pasir Ris, Singapore on the East–West Line (EWL). A train ran over and killed two SMRT Trains track workers, Nasrulhudin Majumudin and Muhammad Asyraf Ahmad Buhari, who were trainees and part of a team of 15 investigating a track point fault machine near the station. The engineer who led the inspection team was charged with negligence causing death under the Penal Code and was subsequently sentenced to 4 weeks in jail. SMRT Trains and one member of SMRT management were charged for violating the Workplace Safety and Health Act for lapses which led to the accident, and were fined $400,000 and $55,000 respectively.
