Canberra Heat
Canberra Heat Volleyball Club (Men) is an Australian national league volleyball club based in Canberra, Australia. Canberra Heat Men have represented Australia at the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship. Canberra Heat Men began life as the Canberra Cobras in 1998, then renamed to Canberra Chiefs in 1999 before becoming the Canberra Heat in 2002. Les Young commenced as head coach in 2010 and led the team to an unequalled two national championships, five national silver medals and two national bronze medals in his nine years coaching the club. Ben Hardy commenced as head coach in 2020/21 and secured the national championship with the team in 2022. Volleyball ACT
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. 2023 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship
The 2023 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship was the 23rd edition of the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship, an annual international men's volleyball club tournament organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Bahrain Volleyball Association (BVA). The tournament was held in Manama, Bahrain, from 14 to 21 May 2023. The champions qualified for the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship. Suntory Sunbirds won the tournament for the first time by defeating Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi in a hard-fought four sets in the final match. Dmitry Muserskiy named as the MVP of the tournament. Police SC secured the bronze against Shahdab Yazd also in a four-set match. Travis Passier (born 26 April 1989) is an Australian volleyball player. He competed for Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics. The 2018 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship was the 19th edition of the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship, an annual international volleyball club tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Myanmar Volleyball Federation (MVF). The 2017 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship was the 18th staging of the AVC Club Championships. The tournament was held in Ninh Bình and Nam Định, Vietnam from 28 June to 6 July 2017. Pools composition Teams were seeded in the first two positions of each pool following the Serpentine system according to their final standing of the 2016 edition.
