The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (), branded as CBC/Radio-Canada, is the Canadian public broadcaster for both radio and television. It is a Crown corporation that serves as the national public broadcaster, with its English-language and French-language service units known as CBC and Radio-Canada, respectively. Although some local stations in Canada predate its founding, the CBC is the oldest continually-existing broadcasting network in Canada. The CBC was established on November 2, 1936. The CBC operates four terrestrial radio networks: The English-language CBC Radio One and CBC Music, and the French-language Ici Radio-Canada Première and Ici Musique (international radio service Radio Canada International historically transmitted via shortwave radio, but since 2012 its content is only available as podcasts on its website). The CBC Ottawa Production Centre is an office and studio complex the serves as the headquarters of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It is located on Queen Street (Ottawa), Queen Street in the Downtown Ottawa, downtown core of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The building hosts the originating studios for both the CBC's Canadian English, English-language and Canadian French, French-language operations in the National Capital Region (Canada), National Capital Region. The building was opened in 2004, and contains approximately of office space. Design and construction The building that houses the Ottawa Production Centre was built by Morguard, Morguard Investments. Not all of it is leased by the CBC, with the top floors occupied by the House of Commons of Canada, House of Commons administration (Information Services).
