Canadian Academy
, also known as CA, is an independent pre-K–12 international school in Kobe, Japan which was founded in 1913. The not-for-profit day and boarding school consists of an elementary school, middle school, and high school all located on the campus on Rokkō Island, a man-made island. The school is approved by the Japanese Ministry of Education and accredited by the U.S. based Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS). The school is certified to award both the International Baccalaureate (IB) and U.S. high school diplomas. History On September 13, 1913, Canadian Methodist Academy opened with sixteen students at Aotani-cho. Desmond Morton (historian)
Desmond Dillon Paul Morton (1937–2019) was a Canadian historian and political advisor who specialized in the history of the Canadian military, as well as the history of Canadian political and industrial relations. Life and career Born on September 10, 1937, in Calgary, Alberta, Morton was the son of a Brigadier General, and the grandson of General Sir William Dillon Otter. A Rhodes Scholar at Keble College, Oxford, Morton graduated from the Collège militaire royal de St-Jean, the Royal Military College of Canada, and the London School of Economics. He received his doctorate from the University of London. He spent ten years in the Canadian Army (1954–1964 retiring as a Captain) prior to beginning his teaching career. Coconuts Musume
was a Japanese idol girl group formed by Up-Front Promotion in 1999 and associated with Hello! Project. It was promoted as the "girls from Hawaii". After nine years, the group officially disbanded when Ayaka Kimura graduated from Hello! Project. Kikuë Tachibana (born 1978 in Graz, Austria) is a Japanese-Austrian molecular biologist and director at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB) in Martinsried, Germany. Formerly, she was a group leader at the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology (IMBA) in Vienna, Austria. Education and career Tachibana was educated in Japan, Austria, and the UK. Taizo Sugitani
is a Japanese Olympic show jumping rider. Representing Japan, he competed in seven Summer Olympics (in 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2024). By competing in Paris 2024 he became the first Japanese athlete to compete in seven Summer Olympics. He placed 11th in team jumping in 2000. Meanwhile, his current best individual Olympic placement is 15th place from Athens in 2004. He is the son of the Olympic rider and riding club owner Masayu Sugitani.
