Campbelltown City Soccer Club is an Australian association football club based in Adelaide, South Australia. Campbelltown competes in Australia's second-tier, NPL South Australia, playing home matches at Newton Village Sports Complex and are the local club of the Campbelltown- Newton area in Adelaide's north-east suburbs. History Campbelltown City Soccer & Social Club "Red Devils" were formed by Joe Natale and other Italian Migrants in 1963, needed players to field a side when they debuted in the old SA third division the following year. But Natale's recruitment drive faced some hurdles, not least City's tin shed change room and the patch of dirt which passed as its original pitch. Campbelltown claimed its maiden league title in 1966 and won promotion to the SA top flight eight years later. Michael Matricciani
Michael Matricciani (born 15 March 1986) is a former Australian football (soccer), footballer who currently coaches Melbourne City FC (A-League Women), Melbourne City in the A-League Women. Matricciani coached Adelaide City in the National Premier League until the end of the 2020 season. Prior to this, Matricciani spent three years as head coach of Football SA NTC Girls and was awarded the 2018 Bob Bush Trophy, recognising the Women's National Premier League's Coach of the Year. He also served as Technical Director at the Campbelltown City Soccer Club from 2013 to 2016 and has undertaken study visits to Chievo Verona, Inter Milan and FC Barcelona. Career Born in Adelaide, Marino first came to national prominence when he was signed up for the Australian Institute of Sport to play in the National Youth League (Australia), National Youth League for the 2012–13 season. The Football South Australia Federation Cup, more commonly known as the Federation Cup and referred to as the Australia Cup South Australian preliminary rounds until the semi-finals, is an annual knockout cup competition in South Australia, run by the state's governing body, Football South Australia. The competition is the second longest-running cup competition in the country, only behind the Football West State Cup, first contested eight years earlier. The competition includes all clubs from the top three tiers of South Australian soccer, as well as numerous clubs from level four and outside the pyramid. State League South Australia is a series of soccer leagues based in South Australia which consists of two divisions; SA State League 1 (SL1) and SA State League 2 (SL2). It runs as the second and third tiers of soccer in South Australia ( third and fourth in Australia). It is conducted by Football South Australia, the state's governing body. After the reforming of the South Australian football league structure in 2012, the league increased its participants from 10 clubs to 16. Daniel John Mullen (born 26 October 1989) is an Australian soccer player who plays for Campbelltown City. He played as a centre back and a right back. Daniel is the cousin of Matthew Mullen and son of Joe Mullen, a former Socceroo. Club career Adelaide United Mullen joined United for the 2008–09 A-League season. On 26 July 2008 he made his debut for Adelaide United in a 0–0 against Newcastle Jets in the Pre-Season Cup. He has since gone on to win a place in the team in the league and also featured against Kashima Antlers in the AFC Champions League. Personal life Mullen is the brother of Matthew, cousin of former Newcastle Jets player Daniel Mullen and the nephew of Joe Mullen, a former Socceroo.
