Camilo Ponce Enríquez (politician)
Camilo Ponce Enríquez (31 January 1912 in Quito – 13 September 1976) was an Ecuadorian political figure. He served as the 30th President of Ecuador between 1956 and 1960. He was married to Dolores Marta Gracia de Gangotena y Jijón. Ponce initially ran in the presidential election of 1948, but only came in third place. In 1951 Ponce, along with Sixto Durán Ballén, founded the Movimiento Social Cristiano (MSC), which later became the Partido Social Cristiano (PSC). Juan Camilo Ponce (born December 5, 2003) is an American professional soccer player who plays as an attacking midfielder for New York City FC II in the MLS Next Pro. Career Youth and college Ponce helped to lead Amityville Memorial High School to a Long Island Class A Boys Soccer Championship, scoring 17 goals and adding 18 assists as a senior. He was also named a Newsday All-Long Island First-Team selection as a sophomore in 2019 and was United Soccer Coaches High School All-American in 2021. Ponce also played club soccer with Massapequa Soccer Club. In 2022, Ponce attended Boston College to play college soccer, where he made eight appearances, scoring a single goal and tallying two assists. In 2023, Ponce transferred to Wake Forest University, making 11 appearances for the Demon Deacons.
