Camille Clarin
Camille Izabel Policarpio Clarin (born May 28, 2001) is a Filipino-Canadian college basketball player. She plays for the NU Lady Bulldogs and also represents the Philippine national team in international competitions. Early life Clarin was born in Antipolo, Rizal, but grew up in Canada. She first played basketball at the age of 10. She had to play in all-boys leagues to get better in her sport. Aside from basketball, she also was a swimmer and a figure skater. As she grew older, she played in the Ontario Basketball Association (OBA). Clarin then played for Blair Academy in New Jersey. At age 15, she tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) going up for a layup while playing in the Filipino Basketball Association of North America (FBA-NA) tournament. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. NCAA Division III
NCAA Division III (D-III) is a division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. D-III consists of athletic programs at colleges and universities that choose not to offer athletic scholarships to their student-athletes. The NCAA's first split was into two divisions, the University and College Divisions, in 1956, the College Division was formed for smaller schools that did not have the resources of the major athletic programs across the country. The College Division split again in 1973 when the NCAA went to its current naming convention: Division I, Division II, and Division III. The Mid-Atlantic Prep League, also known as the MAPL, is a sports league with participating institutions from prep schools in New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the United States. MAPL schools are allowed to have a limited number of post-graduates (student-athletes who have already graduated from high school and are taking an intermediate step between high school and college) on their rosters. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of a pair of cruciate ligaments (the other being the posterior cruciate ligament) in the human knee. The two ligaments are also called "cruciform" ligaments, as they are arranged in a crossed formation. Philippines Women's National Basketball Team
The Philippines women's national basketball team is managed by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP). Compared to the men's national team, the women's national team receives less reception from local basketball enthusiasts.
